What module breaks an enemy ships target lock on you? Is it the modules under the "ECCM" category? |

http://community.eveonline.com/updates/patchnotes.asp Modules
Brand new modules and ammunition have been added to enhance player choice when fitting a ship. Further details of all new modules can be found in the Dev Blog, 'War, Modules and Super Friends'. The Reactive Armor Hardener : A low slot module that adjusts resists according to incoming damage. You can only fit one, but it lets you fight lazy! Drone Damage Amplifier: A low slot, drone damage module which allows your drones do more damage, much in the same way that Gyrostabilizers or Heat Sinks work. Ancillary Shield Boosters: A mid slot active tanking shield module which lets you boost a lot of shield but at a massive need. Requires charges to operate and comes in small, medium large and X-Large. Target Spectrum Breaker: A mid slot module that has a chance of breaking the lock of ships that are targeting you. Downsides is that you have a reduced scan res and it breaks your lock when going off. Light and Medium Web Drones: Light and medium versions of the stasis webifying drones we already have. Cap Battery Changes: All capacitor batteries provide an inherent defense against Nosferatu and Energy Neutralizers. A portion drained is reflected back on the aggressor. Defender Missiles: Defender missiles have now been split into size categories light and heavy. Overclocking Processor Units: A rig that increases your CPU, but at the cost of shield recharge rate.
Target Spectrum Breaker: A mid slot module that has a chance of breaking the lock of ships that are targeting you. Downsides is that you have a reduced scan res and it breaks your lock when going off.

MWD ... and going fast in the other direction, eventually possibly. We can build and sell pretty much every ship. Check my bio for details. Our pirate epic arc completion packages really are very good: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=12973&find=unread |

Looking into this a little more, im thinking a remote sensor dampener with scan resolution script may be the way to go. That combined with a Multispectral jammer. It may take up 2 mid slots, but if your goal is to run through camps and other null danger scenarios (without a cov ops or blockade runner), you can have a lower tank as long as you can keep from being targeted long enough to warp out. You can't be damaged if the aggressor doesn't achieve lock.
That combined with the align-cloak-MWD-uncloak-warp trick should leave most camps behind.

To brake someones lock you can do couple of things.
Use sensor jammer which is chance based: 1.Use ECM burst which brakes lock but they can re-lock you right away. 2. Use ECM jammer (multifreq. or racial) which can jam target for 20sec thus it will lose lock on you. 3. Use ECM drones, whcih act like jammer module but in drone form.
Get "out of their targeting range": Use sensor dampener to reduce their targeting range. (If you reduce their targeting range to 10km and you are 11km away, target will lost lock).
All mentioned modules are here: http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Item_Database:Ship_Equipment:Electronic_Warfare |

The problem with trying to get the gate camp with a jammer and damps first would be 1) You need to identify who the super-boosted pointer will be. A gate camp will have a lot of people and it could be anybody, or there could be several with that job. 2) EW will always fail when you can't afford it to, and you can't count on it saving you against a gate camp, 3) Ok, you damped/ECM'd one guy, but I guarantee you somebody else there will lock and point you before you can jump, even with the MWD/cloak trick. You can't cloak if somebody has you targeted, which you will be if you take time trying to damp them first. 4) Bubbles and HIC will make this all moot anyway.
Best bet for avoiding gate camp... cloaky T3, throw in warp stabs if you are super paranoid. Add interdiction nullifier in null. Laugh in local as you fly right through them. |
