k, i am a miner and have been for a long time( well not that long actually) but when it comes to POS i am a complete newb. i mine mostly in hi-sec and i have always been interested in running a POS for gas mining. i have the sufficient funds but i have no clue on how to go about it.
I am pretty much aware of the logistics involved but finding a place to actually setup is more dificult than i thought.
my question is, is it possible to find/rent space for gas cloud mining that is safe and can this be done with two accounts?
I know the obvious answer is to join a corp that is involved in such ops but honestly its not that easy.
there might already be a topic about this but i can't find it so any advice u guys can offer will be of great help

Can you expound on what you mean? Gas harvesting is done with high slot modules you fit to ships. Do you mean reactions? Boosters? Moon Mining?
Try the test server to learn how to set one up.

Hmm, i wonder what the 2nd sticky at the top of this very forum is about, especially with the cunning title of 'Beginners guide to starbases (POS)' could it be what your looking for  .

Yes.
If you want higher profit I suggest 0.0 where you can solo 0.0 complexes too.
I have done it solo twice for 2-3 month stretches.
Find an area of 00 that has few pilots in it over a span of a few days using the star map.
Set up a POS in a system with no other Poses. They still exist, you just have to look around. This will keep your pos out of the mail that someone gets when a tower is put up in the same system.
Find space at the edges of big alliances.
For the most part, big alliances will not care about you if you don't fight for sovereignty at all.
With a Covert Cloak Transport ship you can get all your stuff in and out pretty easly depending on the number of jumps to the first low sec/high sec area to use as a hub.
I did a Chromium Moon in JQH-KY for two months. A med and small pos solo. The small no guns just a moon miner and silo.
I have not however tried a Low sec pos and I don't think I will.
If you want to do other things besides moon mine I suggest a WH POS.
Make yourself 150km bookmarks off gates to avoid bubbles and you're good to go.
I've lost two transport ships with not much in cargo by failing on gate caps but a few Arkonor Grav sites made up for it.
Oh yeah, and don't engage the locals in combat, just steer clear. Don't **** in your own pool.
Last one I swear : I made a private corp fopr taht purpose and It's also poosible taht smaller sized alliances would let you in and set up shop. Just contact them. I suggest not paying any rent ever , they DON'T OWN **** IN 0.0
