Recently i've been experiencing alot of weird graphic. It would seem that there's something setup wrong, because some of the effects looks "checkered", these are: The Radar, "the warp effect" and planets. I have made some screenshots, to show you guys what i'm talking about: 1st image 2nd image
My system Specs are: Athlon 2500+ Nforce2 MB and a 128MB Radeon 9800PRO GFX(i won't go into specific details unless you ask me :P). I use the Ati Catalyst driver v. 4.9 and the Nvidia Nforce reference driver v 5.10. I have tried a lot of things like omega drivers, reinstalling the nforce drivers reinstalling the ATI driver, but to no avail. I have installed SP2 and Dx9c, but i'm not sure it can be removed, or if it even has anything to do with this.
I'm hoping that some1 here knows the answer to my problem.

Edited by: Qwakrz on 10/10/2004 10:54:35 Its a corrupt texture file
Depending on where the texture is depends on what you need to do but here goes
1. Delete everything out of your cache folder EXCEPT prefs.ini and the settings folder. This will keep your settings but loose all the pictures and textures. Eve will re-download them as needed
2. If the above did not work, you will need to re-install eve. Again keep a copy of your prefs.ini and settings folder somewhere & copy them back when its done.
3. If it still does not work, reload without keeping the backed up files. You will loose all your settings & bookmark folders etc but it will be a clean install.

Yeah... I have actually tried all this already.... Do you think it would help if i Dl'ed entire eve, pre-patched and all, instead of reloading it from my CD and then patching afterwards?

Looks more like memory corruption to me than corrupted texture files.

Memory corruption of what? The system RAM or the GFX RAM? I'll do a memtest86 soon and post what it finds.

Anyway b4 i do an memory test, i chose to do a complete reinstall of windows. This didn't do much good at all. What it did was to move the "checkered" effect to some of the station frames, and a bit more to some of the planets, though it did remove that effect from the Radar.
I think this might have something to do with something that is happening to text on my computer too. Where parts of text elements is beeing displayed in a rather weird manner, where perhaps half of a word is red and the other would be white. I'll prepare a bunch of screenshots to show you this too.

Ok i have done a memtest 86 now.... It did show a few problems, but nothing i think can be related to my eve problem... my reason for thinking so IS that THIS system has runned EVE b4 quite nicely, it was only after i did my first complete reinstall the problem started occuring.... So could this be a DX9c or SP2 problem??
