Hi there! could do with some help, as im fed up replacing batteries in my current mouse.
I have a bog standard corless mouse from logitech which is does the job for me, but battery life from mormal AA batteries last about 2-3 weeks. So i wanna new slightly more comfortable mouse with a rechargeable port, that costs no more than ú40 any suggestions would be appreciated.
thx

Edited by: Benco97 on 15/08/2009 10:52:35 I have two wireless mice, one for my desktop and one for my laptop.
The desktop is using a Logitech MX Air and it works great though the battery life could be a little longer (Though it's only a problem if you use it ALL DAY and then forget to put it on it's little docking thingy).
The laptop is using a Microsoft Arc Mouse and while I know you specifically stated that you're looking for a rechargeable I feel that it deserves an honourable mention because if you put two good quality batteries in it then it'll last a LONG time before you have to change them (Paired rechargeables of maybe 2500mha would be even better)
Features: MX Air: Nicely built, plenty of buttons for most people, works in the air as a presenter simply by picking it up.
Arc Mouse: Nice and small, folds up, great battery life
Unfortunately.... the MX Air is quite expensive so really I guess neither of my suggestions are good and I could have saved everyone some time by not writing them.. hmm..

They had one of these on display at my old workplace (along with the Air too), it's pretty nifty actually. Only thing I didn't like about it was that the buttons didn't have much 'click' to them, and felt like they'd wear out in no time.

Been using an Arc-Mouse for my laptop @ work for the last 6 months or so - like it lots. Shape took a bit of getting used to but its accurate, nice to use and seems to be holding up well to daily use (and its on its first set of batteries still.....).
@ home I use a wired Microsoft Habu gaming mouse (its a rebranded Razor) - like it lots and the ability to switch DPI on the fly is really handy when doing precise work on photoshop etc too...

Razer mice are crap.
Too much complex software and firmware needed that not only can fail but does fail, because the drivers and/or firmware are horribly broken. And so are their tools and user interfaces for configuring their products.
Razor claim that their hardware is designed by gamers for gamers. I am a gamer, and my definition of a good mouse is: A dumb piece of hardware that works, reliably, all the time, and doesn't do funny things in the middle of gameplay and mysteriously stops doing so only if I update its firmware. On this scale, Razor scaled 0/10. With a wired mouse. Talk about epic fail?

Not tried the Mamba or any of the more recent Razer mice so can't really say much about them, but their older mice had absolutely none of that
My Diamondback has been going strong for 3 years now. It still works just the same as the day I bought it. I bought a Habu too, but turns out the cable in that is terrible and after about 6 months it only worked when I squeezed on a bit of the cable. Took it back, got a new one but I can't say I really like it that much, was really uncomfortable for me - so I went back to the Diamondback + got another one for my Laptop and never had mouse problems ever again

Gaming wise it works perfectly, I havn't had a single moment where i've thought "Damn, wish it wasn't wireless" and I play many games from EVE to TF2. As with many wireless mice it DOES go to "Sleep" after a few seconds of inactivity (You know, when the laser gets a little dimmer?) and so there may be a fraction of a second delay when you first move it after a period of perfect stillness, However, this really isn't a problem and really I only notice it because I know it's there. Gaming in presenter mode is a little..strange.. BUT i've heard that some bright spark is working on a way to allow presenter mode to emulate some of the function of the Novint Falcon! (Obviously without the force feedback)
The receiver is a good size, it's thin and about 1" long I think (I've not seen it in a while, can't remember ) and has no trouble fitting into the USB sockets on the back of my system alongside everything else. As for connecting it via generic bluetooth adapters...not a clue, sorry.

and if it's like the mx revolution, when you start using it, you'll wonder what sort of crappy mouse you have been using all these years cuz this thing's just amazing
like, the first days of using my Revo was pretty much "**** man, where have you been all these years? ) ---
