I don't think it'll shake stuff up as much as it's being touted. In fact, I'd say the key question is whether or not shield rigs are going to stay so much cheaper than armor rigs. Really? 150M for a set of BS sized trimarks? :)

Edited by: Marquis Jeladriel on 18/08/2009 02:23:18 Some kind of bait Maller - naturally high resists from training amarr cruiser V, shove on some EANMs and a DC to boost the resists to 70% across the board - a 1600 plate and 3 trimarks for an awesome cruiser sized buffer.
Ambit Extentions on the Diemost give it a respectable falloff while using Null ammo.
It'll become standard to rig all battlecruisers.
In short - there'll be a lot of change at first - but then we'll all settle down into a few good cookie cutter setups with affordable rigs.

None of the above. The only ships that will benefit from being rigged are already being rigged. Sure, it'll be less of a blow to the wallet to lose them, but if it's worth flying, it's worth paying for. ==========

It will certainly shake things up as people get used to the concept of rigging every ship they fly- and presuming CCP gets the pricing the way they want to, it will mean rigging every ship you fly.
Any active tanked frigs will benefit greatly from armor rep/resist rigs, 1600mm plated cruisers/BCs will get a nice boost from trimarks, normally unrigged BCs will see setups with more gank in their fitting, and more tank via rigs.
All in all, it wont change a whole lot, except that you'll know to expect rigs.

the rig changes will be a huge buff to crusiers and frigs for 2 reasons
ACRs will now be cheap, each one acts as a virtual free t2 reactor control allowing ships that could previously not fit 1600s, now able to fit them easy with the effective powergrid buff.
extender shield rigs will now be on EVERYTHING. because even though trimarks will be cheaper, the drawbacks will hurt smaller ships. whereas shield rigs will not have too significant of a drawback. secondly this will couple with the fact that it is much easier to fit a LSE than a 1600 plate on a cruiser and maintain speed and agility, therefore extender rigs will amplift the LSEs effectiveness

Generally this. But a ship not usually rigged, like a cheap caracal will now be rigged for better effect. It will now eat frigs a lot easier .

Agreed with Rubico.
Shield rigs are better on small ships than armor (less painful drawback) and we're probably going to see some new popular fits using ACRs that would be infeasible before. We'll see some really strong fits as a result of the cheap ACRs and some fun-to-try stuff like a harbinger that can fit both a heavy neut (!) and a full rack of medium lasers.
Ships that already were rigged by some people are going to be more popular since everybody will be fitting them now. My sader's are going to get a lot better, going to drop the 2x T2 TE's for a T2 heatsink, T1/named CPR, and 2 locus rigs next time I buy one (fits with a 1% CPU implant and energy grid skill at level 4 // WU V).
BC's will hugely benefit from this as a class.
tl;dr: comedy ACR fits and triple extended drakes.
