The Librarian is a psyker class in the War40K universe mate.
If THQ launches it then i will be gadly joining with one. _____________________________________

Originally by: Veldya Blizzard orginally based the Warcraft IP around the Warhammer theme, Games Workshop said the works of Tolkien and other great fantasy authors inspired them to create the Warhammer IP, the orginal release used demons that looked a lot like Balrogs.
Everyone steals from everyone else.
Rather than have s stick up your butt about it, people should take it as a compliment that they created something special. It is all about litigation and holding onto everything you could possibly flog off.
Greed is bad when it comes to creative sharing. If Tolkien and others were *******s then we wouldn't have fantasy RPGs, computer, games, etc that are all derivatives of their creative works.
There's a difference between inspiration and rip off. _____________________________________

Truly, blizzard rips everyone off and then manages to convince their fanboys they have the original content. Which is why Blizzard fanboys are lame. _________________________________________________

Also Blizzard dropped the ball, it should have been World of Diablo, not World of Warcraft.
It is world of diablo. They took their original ideas (which were more of a UO/DAOC thing) and changed it due to them realizing there were millions of people that were happy doing nothing more than grinding the same 3-4 mobs for hours every day in Diablo 2. WoW takes so much of its original design from Diablo 2 that it's not even funny. Then again, D2 didn't use ******ed things like "Bind on Pickup" or "Bind on Equip". Those are handicaps and simply take away from games. It's funny and sad that they used it, considering bind on pickup/equip would've ruined diablo games pretty badly since the games had such active trade communities.

it really wouldnt. there would be nought but an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting (mouth-breathing) gods.

If you work for blizzard you've probably signed an NDA, so shush.
well they cant track me via an EVE alt can they? :P plus i didnt say what the next mmo is about.. just what it's not about :)
hello kitty online?
will it have free pvp and "full loot"? if not gb2wow WIS is an expansion which allows EVE players to wear leather and walk around stations.
Dust514 is a console shooter/rts which will tie into EVE and affect sov. |

Edited by: Joe Skellington on 22/08/2009 21:49:37 I don't think we have much to worry about, the Borg that is "Bobby Kotick" will not touch it if he can't exploit it for 10 million a year with endless sequels.

Blizzard has more than enough on their plate with WoW.
Starcraft II has been in development for, what, eight years? It's starting to feel like Duke Nukem. At this rate I'll be very surprised if Starcraft II ever comes out at all.
As for people moving into each other's space: The natural progression would be for CCP to release an RTS heavy planetary warfare game like Starcraft. Tie the game directly to the MMO worlds of Eve and Dust.
If Blizzard ever wants to get anything out of Starcraft II they'd better release it soon. Otherwise CCP will have their own RTS leveraging a much stronger back-story and there won't be any need for Starcraft.

Well, There was a dragon called Sleeper in Everquest 1(about 7-8 years ago?), legendary unkillable mob, that was eventually killed (2004-2005 I think?) with geniusly simple strat by few guilds and the fight was followed live across servers. And since they managed to kill what was supposed to be an unkillable monster very important to the lore SoE had to remove Sleeper from the game and change the lore heh. Daaam EQ was such a cool game.

You mean Blizzard has blatantly ripped off Warhammer and 40k? I see nothing at all that has been copied the other way. Color codes of items is pretty damn minor compared to ripping off two whole settings with races and everything (plus, that's not Games Workshop, that's Relic).

Please tell me that you're aware that Warhammer and Warhammer 40k have been around for about 20 years before the MMO called Warhammer Online.

Actually I've played WHFB since 4th edition (WE, HE, VC, Empire). Haven't played the utter abortion that is 40k since the end of 2nd.
Since he said "class", there was absolutely zero indication that he was referring to the tabletop games.

I love the 'WoW is gnawing on EvE' threads. Great trolling.
Blizzard has no interest in touching this ****. WoW is pve friendly EvE is a pvp game. Many more people play WoW because they don't want to live in a world where a single ****up can leave them in a bloody sprawl. People who play EvE for pvp veiw WoW as the carebear paradise.
There is very little crossover. EvE is not in direct competition with WoW in the same way that Civilization and Age of Empires weren't directly competing titles. And because #1 WoW makes way more profit, and #2 EvE doesn't chew into that profit because we already established the audiences are different, Blizzard will leave CCP alone.

Blizzard has stated flatly multiple times, they WILL NOT make a World of Starcraft as they see no point competeing with themselves. WoW= 11 million players @ $15 a month, do the math. :)
I think not, therefore I am not. |
