Hi just wondered what missions have a "chance" of dropping faction loot (and roughly whats it worth)
the only reason i ask is i have never seen any in a mission - but the guides always mention theres a chance!

Worlds Collide has a small chance to earn you a crapton of isk.
The Blockade also has a small chance to earn you a large amount of isk. Pew Pew Lazorz!!! |

Worlds Collide can always spawn an overseer. It's just a matter of patience. Activating the gates will spawn the overseer, so warp in/out until you find one... Only the high value overseers can drop good stuff though.

The overseer however got a very low droprate on faction mods. Best place to get faction mods is still lowsec and the lower you go the better. ---------------------------------- None of yet! |

I wouldn't bother with missions if faction loot is what you are after. I have NEVER encountered a faction spawn in missions and i did a lot of them.
Plexing, however, provides them. I am doing exploration and plexes, and they spawn faction and officers frequently. The DED rated always do, and quite often they drop nice loot. Don't know about empire ones, but in 0.0 its party time with faction loot. ___________________________________

I think you were just lucky. I have never seen them in normal and storyline missions. They might spawn, but chances are very, very low. Like i said earlier: if you want faction loot, don't bother with missions. ___________________________________

2-3 months ago I had a faction drop from a storyline. Last month I had a faction drop from the overseer in WC. Guy decided to jump my salvaging ship so had to bring my combat back and kick his ass, but then again it wasn't even close to BS mods he dropped.
So they are still in, but very rare and you realy need to get lucky, spawning the overseer can already be anoying and only 1% or so chance on faction drop from him as well. ---------------------------------- None of yet! |

Confirmed, Worlds Collide spawned an overseer for me for the Gurista side, and not the Serpentis side, after killing all the mobs he spawned, he did not drop anything.

The Serpentis/Guristas Worlds Collide almost always spawns an Overseer on the Serpentis side. Contrary to popular belief, activating the gate isn't a trigger for an immediate spawn. it may well activate a time delayed trigger but then that trigger could also be fired by entering the initial pocket. Anyway, I digress...
The amount of times I've gone back into the pocket during a weekly farm at 5 minutes to downtime and found a lonely Overseer... well it's a lot
There are also three types of Overseer... the cheapo ones don't dorp any faction loot or t2 salvage. They are worth less than 1m and the wreck is listed on the overview (If you have the setting on) as a "Large Serpentis Battleship" or some such, as in a normal wreck. The mid level Overseer will have a bounty between 1m and 4m ish; this chappie will be listed on the Overview as a "Shadow Serpentis xxx" or some such and will, in my experience, always drop a faction tag and faction ammo.
The one everybody wants is the 4.8m bounty. This guy will again be listed on the overview as a "Shadow Serpentis xxxxx" and the wreck will be listed as "large Commander wreck" (or words to that effect). This guy will have a chance to drop faction loot but it is not set in stone. He should give t2 salvage though.
EDIT: my last run I picked up three 4.8m overseers. One of them didn't drop anything apart from a tag and ammo, but the remaining two between them dropped a faction hardener, faction energised membrane and a faction nano plating plus the usual tag and ammo. to be fair, it is tat and sells very cheaply on contracts but I like to collect this "tat" Removed. If you want faction loot, try low/null sec plexing and ratting. But tbh most of it is worthless. I got some centii C-type hardeners off a plex a few days ago, I think I may just reprocess them. They are passive EM/Therm hardeners and on contracts, those are worth 2M isk at best. However, had I been luckier and gotten the adaptive version, they'd be worth at least 20M each. It's not consistent income but it beats mind numbing missioning. -----------------------------------------------------

I agree that plexing is the way to go. I've done a few DED 4/10 plexes and i managed to score once a Pithum C-Type Medium Shield Booster and another time Pithum C-Type Medium Shield Booster and a Pithum C-Type Kinetic Hardener. There were 2 times when they didn't drop anything... Anyway i think that's your fastest way to make ISK in empire tbh... It certainly beats the boredom in missions though. -------------------------------------------------------------- ^ This line means that a signature will follow after it ^ |

They still do drop them, but it`s rare and random (I got a 60mill isk Domination module out of an Angel Xtra, first time ever in 5 years of Eve..)

I have received a number of Dread Guristas modules from the level 3 Guristas Extravaganze in the bonus room.
I have done hundreds of level 4 missions and have only seen the 4m ISK bounty Overseer half a dozen times. The only thing that I have ever had drop was a Implant. I dont remember for sure now but I think it was a HQ Slave one.

Yeah, agreed, the rate of drop isn't very good. You're far better off doing lowsec plexes.
...that said, I did get a HG Snake Delta out of the Overseer on Worlds Collide once. About 500M worth. It kind of made my month, but every mission after that was a disappointment
