When i play eve my pc just freezes and locks up sometimes, today it happened 3 times in a mather of a few hours, lost several drones that way but thats besides the point. When it happens i cant use my mouse, keyboard or anything, nothing works anymore except the reset button, when i reset all is back to normal except that i completely have to reset my eve settings again like the overview settings and video settings. Anyone else have this problem or has a solution?
thanks in advance

I'm having similar issues since the latest Nvidia drivers came out a few weeks ago. Tried pretty much everything else, rolling them back to see if any from the last few months work better.

Sounds like overheating. Check your fans. Remove any nesting dust bunnies.
I have to clean my laptop fans every 4 months, and force the to always run at high-speed.

He has got watercooling (op is a friend of mine) so the fans thing is what i suggested till he said it was watercooled. he has cleared cache as well. Maybe try a full uninstall and reinstall of eve and put it on a different drive?

Have you recently updated any drivers? Perhaps your graphics drivers or inadvertently installed 'Cool 'n' Quiet' drivers for your CPU which have been known to cause issues with high end machines.
Did it start at a specific time or has it always done this? Can this timeline be tied into any other changes you made?
A reinstall of direct X and your graphics drivers would be my first suggestion. Failing that rolling back to an earlier driver would be your next step.
Also check the temperature of your CPU and GPU to see if they are overheating and this is what is causing the lock up. Tools such as CPU-Z and GPU-z are ideal for this.
Post back and let us know
