Well recently I've come into some money and was able to purchase a new computer (EVE premium ****d my old computer badly) and had a chance to get back into EVE once again. However every time I try to open it opens a command prompt instead of the game itself. Now this may be due to the fact I forgot to install a program (been awhile since I started a computer from scratch) or I did something inappropriate to the download file since I am running Windows 7. Thanks for any help in advance.

only thing i can think of is eve is not compatible with windows 7. please keep in mind that windows 7 has just been releced and the eve Dev team may not have had chance to update the game to run with this OS. i had windows 7 but went back to xp due to program errors due to corporations not yet having there software/programs/games up to date for windows 7......

There are other people who get eve to work on windows 7. I'd suggest next time putting your OS in the title... Otherwise you look like a random nubbins who anyone on this forum could help, and so nobody specialized in W7 pays you any attention, kind of like this runonsentence. EVE Online is not supported on Win7, the same as the latest ATI drivers are not supported on Win7 but they released them anyway.
EVE Online fully works for Win7. Win7 has been in Beta early this year and hit RC a while back and hit RTM release August. EVE works since Win7 uses most of the base code from Vista to avoid another XP -> Vista release. There is no reason EVE Online wouldn't work for Win7 unless you are using a legacy GPU like the x1000 series and below though i have run EVE on a Win7 machine using the 8.16 drivers using the x1300.
In order to ensure EVE works on ANY system you should perform a full client download and install. Copying works fine but can have errors. Best to do a full unistall and deletion of anything EVE related and start from scratch. ------------------------------------- Read my bio ingame for tips on how to live and not be called nasty names by me. |

Are you able to post the specs of your machine? People will be able to let you know if there's any known problems or HCL issues with what you have.
As advised above a complete removal and reinstall would be a good move too. Do you have problems with any other games/programs?
