SP loss? The chances of this are so remote its ridiculous. Just keep your clone up-to-date, which I always do, and there isn't anything to worry about.
In fact in over 3 years I know of only ONE person to accidentally get himself podded without a clone, and he lost 5 days of training.

Edited by: Kravick Drasani on 20/08/2009 21:02:37 Would I PVP more? Probably not. I already PVP a decent amount, but it doesn't take up all my EVE time. The time I spend not PVPing is time I am spending generating ISK so I can PVP.
Would I stray from the norm and try out more LOL fits to see if they'd work? Most definitely.
Of course, with the exception of my first time in PVP 2 years ago, I only ever get podded if my ship blows up inside of a bubble. That only happens in 0.0.

Add me to list. Lost almost a month of training.
As far as OP's Q - No. What is the point of PvP without risk?

a straigh forward game play without need to be slave of the game to regain what was lost.
EVE is crapy at this respect coz is a game made for Amarr slaves... slave your selves to slave others one day (possibly)

1b dollars?
you could look at that as ISK or you could look at that in subscription wasted time... which could mean two things either ISK or real money.
So yeah losing 1b dol ship is a painful experience... more than losing the live clone or some lvl5 skill

Don't.
Don't clones work anymore?
Answer:
As far as I know they do. Tbh my implants are a far more serious loss than the 5 days of train time I'd lose if I didn't have an up to date clone.

The risk in PvP isn't the few hundred thousand to a few million isk you spent on clones for skillpoints.
And no I don't think lowering risk leads to more PvP, back when "free" insurance was introduced (together with an increase in payout and a lowering of the cost) there also wasn't a sudden spike in the amount of people PvP'ing. --- -The only real drug problem is scoring real good drugs |

The question has been answered already with jumpclones. Next re-phrasing of the same tired old question is; Would you PvP more if you had a resurrection point at the back of the fleet... Did anyone fraps it? |

well, look at it from an FPS POV.
If everything had no penalties would you PVP more. Probably, but since there is also no long term satisfaction, I'd probably quit my subscription after a couple of months. --
EVE is about balls, brains, and paranoia. SP comes in a distant fourth place. |

Physically impossible - I'm already a pvp addict and all I do is pvp when I get time to log in.
I'd probably pvp less if there were less consequences because it wouldn't be as much fun.

No :).
Risk of implant loss in high and low sec is minimal unless you are and idiot tho (or someone is flying a dedicated podding ship, and is good at it), 0.0 and WH its a very real risk due to bubbles.
But no risk in EVE = fail. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The best question is : Would you PVP more if Killboards don't report loses ?
People hate lose, mostly because the society learns at everyone that winners are glorified and losers are humiliated/mocked.
So Killboards have a motivating effect, but also a demotivating effect, as some people will refuse to fight to not have an loss history. This is worse since Syndication has been created, as losses are now global and can't be avoided same if you don't post them. _______ Local is fine, period.
CCP devs, you nerfed shield resists by 8.3% but armor by 7.1% (The old Explo/EM "10 points" Nerf). When will you correct this inconsistency ? |

In Delve people often set their clones to the station we were based out of - only, it didn't have Medical facilitites. I just happened to be outside in a triple-sensorboosted Cerb with Assault Launchers, and popped a noobship as it was aligning for warp and then their pod. They re-appeared in local. Apparently said person then went on to rage in some channels, because someone convo'd me 5 minutes later providing some tasty copypasta and that they'd lost Battleship 5
