Wouldn't it be cool if ships had histories? For example on the show info screen, it could list when and where the ship was made, which corps or players have owned it. Perhaps it might even list kills for that vessel. Considering that these ships are supposed to have big crews and take massive resources (in the case of Battleships and above) to build. Having histories would make the ships seem less disposable, and more valuable. It would give the vessels a sense of character, and players would cherish their ship's histories and the battles that the ships had survived.

you can keep track of all that info in the notepad if it really means that much to you.

I certainly do. I have a Vexor from about 2 years ago. Most of my ships are like that.

That's the point, with a ship history, maybe people would be less inclined to waste ships frivolously and fight harder to keep them. Also, if you sold a ship, the history would go with it, so keeping track via notepad wouldn't be so easy to pass around.

That is an excellent idea. I believe as an individual my character has a bond with his ships and his ships have their own personalities. As those ships stick around and are used in industrial endeavors (such as my Mackinaw) or combat operations (my logistics ship) they develop history. A feature such as a ship's log that you can keep and edit would be cool.
This is something that would attract Role-Players and cater to their end of the game, I think there are alot of people that could care less. NEWB... Thats N-E-W-B not N-O-O-B! |

Well you could evemail the person the information from the notepad once they buy the ship..."Please add to this history and pass it on to the next owner of the ship or else a asteroid will hit your house"...it could be the evemail equivalent of chainmail.

Ship histories sounds pretty cool. Give every ship a random unique ID number and stick it into the killmail.
Then hit info on the ship and it will tie in with all the appropriate killmails.
Very cool, potentially very laggy though. --

I've suggested this quite a few times, along with naming a ship once, and unless you repackage it, it's name is like that forever. Personally I think it would be great. -- Bellum Eternus Inveniam viam aut faciam.

Being able to name the ship only once would be one way to go. Not necessarily in the taste of everyone.
Me personally I'm not that bothered, if more info is being let back into player hands I prefer that space to be allocated to pilot bios. Did anyone fraps it? |

Fully supported. This topic comes up periodically and I agree with it. I've had ships that have had epic combat careers, would be nice if it were possible to show it off or at least see for myself just how much damage it's done. -----------------------------------------------------

I don't care who made it since ships are all the same. But something like a Killcounter would be nice.
