Well, i was in illamur ratting with a thorax. all of a sudden some guy in a Ishtar jumped in and started warp scrambling me! Then he destroyed my precious thorax
So my question is, is there any way to escape a warp scrambler? a module or strategy.

Yes. Dock up and never undock. You might have heard of something called a Warp Core Stabilizer, that supposedly prevents scramblers from working, but they're broken right now, so they do nothign but make your ship worse, so don't bother using them. _________________________________________________ If you're tired of all this 'Paste this into your signature' crap, paste this into your sig.... First, so you understand how warp jammers work, I'll explain the mechanics. Warp jammers come in two basic categories. Each one has a jam strength. If the total number of points of warp jam strength on your ship is greater than your warp core strength, then you can't warp. The two basic categories are warp scramblers and warp disrupters. Disrupters only have 1 point of strength (most of them anyway) but have very long range. Scramblers are much shorter range, but have 2 points of strength (most of them) and have the added benefit of preventing a microwarp drive from working. There are faction, deadspace, and officer versions of all of these that have longer range, higher strength, or both.
Now, there is one module and a couple of strategies you can use to avoid them. The module is the Warp Core Stabilizer. It makes your warp core stronger by 1 point for each of them you have fitted. Don't use them; they gimp your ship too much. They're used for travelling, not fighting and keeping the ability to get away.
Strategy 1) Both scramblers and disruptors have a max range. If you can get out of this range, you can warp off. This requires your ship to be faster than the jamming ship.
Strategy 2) The local channel will show you everybody in the system at the moment. Use that as an intel tool. If you're not alone, you're in danger. If you want to be absolutely safe, go hide unless you're alone in the system.
Strategy 3) There will be a short period of time from the point where they appear on your overview before they can target you. If they came out of cloak, there's a short delay before they can start locking. If they came out of warp, they appear on your overview before the warp ends, but can't target you until the warp is over. Use that time to get away.
While ratting keep yourself aligned to some celestial object. As soon as ANY other ship appears on overview, warp off. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |

There is also the tactic "kill the scrambler" but that doesn't work for everyone most of the time.

If you get naked, smear yourself in vaseline and dance in the street waving a big (or small) stick at passers by and singing postman pat, it dispells the warp scrambler and casts a permanent buff which makes you immune to how eve is meant to be played, but increases the chance you will get stabbed by 98%
