can't give you a definite amount, but if you do t3 production it is now easy enough to get that salvage to not be such a problem to get the necessary amounts, before when you'd get enough drops of other things to build a bunch of subsystems you rarely had even half the neurovisual's you needed.

Well, can't say for sure, but today I killed two sleepers BS (intermediate) and salvaged 40+ NIM. I'd call that a strong increase.

here's a good scale to show you how worthless they now will be
site NIM gain before patch : about 40 if we were lucky Site after patch: almost 400 from one site!!!!!!!!1
1000% increase to drops

Edited by: Gpick on 24/08/2009 21:52:49 : ( and here's the sucker that earns his isk mainly off NIMS. The ribbons have risen a bit in value but that nowhere near compensates for the fact that NIMs have completely tanked in value now.

40x at 5m = 200m isk 400x at 2m = 800m isk.... not real values, but you get the point... -sig- Support the introduction of Blaze crystals for Amarr!

Actually the NIMs are at about 800k each last time I checked and personally my NIM drop rate for C1 and C2 which I do has been a good bit less than usual. I know having done only 20 or so anomalies is statistically insignificant but it doesn't feel right considering i would average about 3.5 NIMs a site prepatch. So obligatory summary maths: 2x800k = 1.6mill 4x5m = 20 mill

Definitely been boosted massively for the sleeper BS.
Say our income from them has slightly dipped since other parts have become constricting.
Guessing C320 and 540 will start to become a major bottleneck now.

Edited by: XXSketchxx on 27/08/2009 14:48:45 Just pulled 12 NIMs from a basic sleeper battleship wreck.
25 total from the site. And 1 melted nanoribbon. Class 2 system.
The NIMs are going for approx 400k in Jita now so thats about 10 mil. Last I check nanoribbons are around 6.5 mil (could be wrong here). Add to that various other salvage and 28 Sleeper Data Librarys (5.6 mil) and you are looking at >20 mil for 15 minutes work?
I'd say drop chance and rates (amount dropped) have both been increased significantly as these numbers are pretty steady across the board taking into account my experience with similar sites since patch.
While I will miss the ridiculous profits made from uncovering 20 NIMs in a site, this is not a bad deal for a class 2. I can only imagine what is dropping in the C5/C6s out there.

around 250-300 in class 5's on a good day, if you use caps it obviously goes up a lot, caps is how you get like 400 to 500 on medium grade sites

How much would you say its changed for you then? And would you say its been beneficial, i.e. I know for me drops in C2/C3 were highly sporadic. Sometimes nothing, sometimes jackpot. Now I get a consistent 15-25 from an anomaly in C2s easily. Would you say its more consistent now and thus a more "regular" income source?
On a side note, how are melted nanoribbon drops? Prices are increasing fast...

It was 40nims @ 5mil = 200mil isk Now its 400nims @ 200k = 80 Mil
And price is still falling. Soon the only worthwhile salvage will be melted nano-ribbons and they are not that frequently dropped
small scale operations will find it more profitable to run missions again soon

so CCP will soon raise drop rate of Nanoribbons when everyone complains...
which makes the C540 the thing to have, and the other gases only found in C5 or C6 wormholes
Way to give C6 wh holders a monopoloy CCP :)
thanks for breaking T3 6 months into the game :)

Arkonor has been my #1 source of income for a while now. Polymers, sleeper tags, and the occasional good salvage is just supplemental.

NIM drop rate is a bit out of whack to say the least...
Made a post in the Apocrypha 1.5 feedback thread about it, and I hope it gets read.
Here's a link to that post. Near the bottom.
Those numbers were achieved without using cap ships. So an average of about 200 NIMs per Core Garrison (the easiest of Class 5 combat sites.) Considering a hull + 5 subs takes about 50 NIMs in the production process, the numbers are just nuts. Triple Nanoribbon drop rate, and reduce the NIM drop rate to about 15% of what it currently is and things would be balanced from the perspective of a Class 5 WH.
I admittedly know nothing about the salvage drop rates for class 1/2/3/4 systems though. Would love to see some numbers from you guys in those classes. I would assume that class 6 drop rates would be similar since the sleepers there are of the advanced type also. -- Hiding in the shadows... |
