Hi,
I am planning on obtaining a Megathron in the near future, and was wondering if any experienced mega pilots out there might suggest to me, a list of necessary skills, to be proficient at npc hunting in this ship.
Thanks in advance

for good results with a thron you will need the following:
Gal battleship lvl 4+ Large Hybrid lvl4+ Engineering 5 Electronics 5 mechanic 4+ repair systems 4+ MWD skills Sharpshooter 3+ Surgical strike 4+ whatever that tracking skill is 4+ and pretty much all the other non-specific gunnery skills pretty high (weapon upgrades 5 helps a lot) if you can get your hands on a siege launcher or 2, torp and cruise missile skills are also handy. Oh, and of course heavy drones to deal with those pesky frigs/cruisers.
There ya go, months of training to look forward to

Surprised I didn't see this one mentioned, but Hull Upgrades 4+ is esential. This allows use of hardeners (for instance 1 thermal 1 kinetic for serpentis ships) which will cut down on damage an npc battleship can deal to you significantly (assuming you do plan to armor tank which you should :)

besides the skills needed to fly the thing i HIGHLY recommend the following skills
Electronics lvl5 Enginering lvl5 Weapons Upgrades lvl5
you will need those 3 particular skills to fit some of the better setups for the mega.. without those 3 skills that ships is gimped unless you plant minning lasers on it..

Any blasterthron had better have a heavy cap injector, for PvP.

The less you have to use them, the better, though.
Edit: ah, nvm, just checked req's for injectors (heavy t2 to be exact)... Personally I haven't needed cap injectors, but then again, I don't have anywhere near sp to even consider taking a battleship to PvP.

tbh I only use cap injectors for PvP and resupply is a pain and a half. When you go up against apocs that are using nosferatu / energy neutralisers you're very happy for the injection, I can assure you. Plus using cap injectors frees up slots to use for ECCM / damage mods etc.

here's the minimums we ask our members to have before taking out and flying it:
http://www.angrygames.com/eve.htm
for Megathron I would also make sure skills are:
Spaceship command 5 L Hybrid 4 Signature Analysis 5 Evasive Maneuvering 4
with the minimums listed on my page though you can still tool around Empire space and do the hardest missions without ever worrying about getting your arse handed to you...
(assuming you have a clue how to fight already and aren't into doing dumb crazy things thereby getting your arse handed to you) . .
We are the Mooninites. We are from the Moon. And our culture is advanced beyond all that you can possibly comprehend with 100% of your brain...on the Moon, nerds get their pants pulled down and spanked with moonrocks. |
