Lars Hamburg	Posted - 2009.08.22 06:10:00 - [1] When looking on the Recommended tab on a ship, is the idea that if you have those certificates you get better results from the ship? Also, I'm thinking of upgrading my Tristan to Catalyst. Currently just mission running looting/salvaging. Will this be an okay ship to start trying out drones a little later? Any other ship comments?

Certificates themselves do nothing. They're just recommended skills; they're a way for newbies to see what skills are normally important when flying a given ship. Catalysts (and all destroyers) absolutely eat level 1 missions if fitted properly. They can also be refit to make excellent salvagers and looters afterwards. It's a bit of a side route, though, if you're looking to specialize into drones. Destroyers are gunboats. If you're looking to do level 2 missions and/or looking to get into drones, train for a Vexor (cruiser).
Nareg Maxence Gallente	Posted - 2009.08.22 11:40:00 - [3] If you like drones, you should pass on skilling for destroyer and go for a Vexor right now. It's a fenomenal ship, able to do Level 3 missions with good skills and modules.

Quantar Raalsken Gallente	Posted - 2009.08.22 13:54:00 - [5] although like previously stated the certs do nothing themselves, if u train up those skill sets then yes u will get pretty much the optimal performance out of ur ship......or at least average, cause any skills in those certs that tell u to train to something under lvl 5 always have room for improvement ^^ =======
