Originally by: Spurty CCP needs to be vigilant here yet move with haste.
Their handling of this is extreme and so far, no one appears to have posted "I was banned, but after a check by CCP, I'm back up and running".
From my perspective, having worked on triage teams, CCP is taking too long to work out from logs of ips the log in information verifying the person doing the dealings was not the same as the actual owner.
Either people have been cleared and sheepishly are not posting about their brushes with the ban stick (If this is you, please post so those that lost stuff have reason to stick with the game) or no one has been cleared.
The couple of people i know that have 'gone' from the game were good people. This has shattered them emotionally and on non-eve game forums, the word is spreading that customer care is not strong in this game.
Right about now, it seems CCP is unable to match up login ip addresses with the ISK farmers or the original owners. In a World where this sort of work can be done in almost any programming language or SQL in very little time, its sad to see CCP doesn't have a fast response team following a procedure to rectify this.
This is the perception.
CCP and those of you that have been nullified of this awful event need to make it clear that we, the 'loyal' customers aren't considered 'guilty until proven innocent'.
CSM people, bring that to the table please.
I don't care about 'visibility' of the process, i just want to see results.
From a purely layman's point of view I can think of 2 points. Firstly, CCP are obviously being targeted by a concerted attack of unprecedented levels. Presumably, if they were able to cope with the current situation in a 'timely' manner for the victims, it would have required a few offices full of employees who had been sitting around for the last few years twiddling their thumbs, and waiting for this kind of attack to happen. As frustrating as it is for your friend, I am sure you and your friend can appreciate that fact. I wouldn't want to be working in the relevant ccp department atm.
Secondly, I would hope and guess that they are trying to do more than just chase their tail, trying to return accounts back to their original owners in their original condition. Presumably they are trying to fight back, and I guess that would sometimes mean letting things play out a bit.
Best of luck to your friend though. As usual there are a few smug bastards itt, all ****y with their 'vast' knowledge. It's not a crime to be relatively new to the internet.
