Well I'm gonna cross train for a different race of ships. I fly Gallente right now and I got most of my skill points in gunnery. Caldari is out the question so its either Amarr or Minmatar. I'm not asking for a "vs" discussion I'm just asking which is all around more useful.

What do you want to do with them? Though all round I'd say Amarr.

I'd say Amarr purely for the Zealot, which covers for your long range HAC weakness, and the Curse, which gives you another tasty droneboat.

Caldari is out of the question because?
Seriously you already have rails trained so why not. Depending on what you wanna do with it its worth it.
Amarr isnt bad for all around decentness

Edited by: Chestrano on 23/08/2009 20:40:02 I would choose Amarr. Sure, it cant happen that minmatar will be buffed, but at this moment Amarr is the better choice all around

I would try Minmatar if you are Gallente and want to cross train and don't want to train Caldari.
Minmatar opens up the Serpentis and the Angel Cartel starships as well as the Minmatar ones.

^^ That
gallente is awesome, but if you can fly all their ships amarr is a good choice to crosstrain, their turrets are just... AWESOME! I never liked hybrids myself. I mostly use gallente ships up to T2 cruiser, and amarr BC and above. currently training for amarr capital.
but if you're going to focus on AF's, HAC's and recons, I would recommend minny. they got badass AFs and HACs and recons. I love the rapier teaming up with an arazu, vaga and their AF's for solo pew pew, and the sniper muninn(?) or was it huginn.. i'm always confused with those.
so it depends on what kinda ships you want to focus.. small to medium = minny, large = amarr. ossim b00bage |

figure out what you want to do, then look at the ships that best fit that job.
train for them.
Amarr are armor tanked gunboats, so can easily transfer skills into them
Minmatar have armor tanked ships, and you wind up with mixed loadouts on most of them.

Yeah... if he goes Minnie he has to train shields and missiles to be effective, so Amarr is the easier of the two.
Personally I have all 4 races HACs and CS, so I have no say in crosstraining arguments ------------

I would say train caldari first as you only really need level 4 missile skills to use them competently in pve so if you have all your support skills done then its just a month or so of training then go all out amarr for the ever lovely t2 lazorz of doom. Once you are done with amarr go minmatar and as you level 5 your minnie skills you will also be polishing off caldari as a bonus so you can just train the racial ship skills and hop right into a well skilled cerb or rook. Boom you are now ready to face any nerf and just laugh as you step into the next fotm.

I'd say unless you have all skills you ever want in main race at close to max then don't crosstrain. Crosstrain when you depleted your main race skills.

Apart from wasting SP on rustbuckets, this is my plan.

People who crosstrain to battleships are wasting valuable T2 Cruiser and battlecruiser specialisation training time.
