I just recieved this email from the address [email protected]

After today downtime we found some problems in our database, so an important part of our users have problems with their account details.
Please go to account management and check if u have problems with your username and password. If u have problems with your username and password please allow us up to 72 hours to resolve this problems.
We apologize for this problem.

Obviously I didn't click the link or link it here, just a warning to others.

I hope you didn't click on any links.
But it wouldn't hurt to go through the actual EVE site and double check. It wouldn't be the first time they botched the payment system.

signing up on forums somewhere, buying isk through RMT, keylogger, buying isk through RMT, signed up for a unsecure 3rd party service like website hosting, buying isk through RMT.
Plenty of ways to give away your e-mail buy mistake, Im not going to say what I think it was, because you can never be sure. but ccp can :)

You can fake mail from whatever email address you want as long as you have a mail server that supports relaying. I used to have fun sending mail as [email protected] for a while about 15 years ago when it worked. You can still find servers that works if you want. :)

Never trust suspicious mail even if it has a good sender email address.
