After DT I can't get any further than character selection, the box with the progress bar at "Getting Characters" just freezes and doesn't move. It worked fine yesterday, what the hell did you guys do? :(

Same thing here. Although i see 1300 have managed to get on. Seems like theres another problem

While I am glad to see that it is not just me having this problem, it is concerting to see that it doesnt effect everyone.
Hopefully it will effect enough people that CCP will actually try to fix it soon and not just leave a few of us out in the cold.

WTF, whatever u devs did during downtime seems to have messed up the system big time. Perhaps u ought to consider undoing it quickly please.

Hangs for me as well, and even loading the news takes a long time, suggesting it's some kind of network congestion perhaps? Forums being this slow definitely points in that direction too.

However since installing another copy of eve on a seperate hard drive ive had nothing but problems, i hope shiva fixes all this or both my accounts will have to go, whats the point if you cannot play?

 same on both forum and game. Obviously a general problem. Pity there is no notice about it while logging giving some eta...
Would the 1300 players logged number be a constant digit to buff up ccps clientele numbers?

Same here, I have sent them a log file showing record not found when loading the characters.... omg we have all been shot up a black hole inside the deepest depths of the server system.

Sorry guys it's all my fault.
I decided to do my first mission in over 6 months! Now that there's only a couple of hours left to complete it the server is shagged.
