Sometimes the drones switch between targets/structures etc, and you have no idea what they are shooting.
It could also be used for who's controlling the drones attacking you as well.

If you put your cursor over an active drone, it'll say what it's fighting. However, if there are ships that have the same name, then that doesn't help.

In addition to the indicator that is listed on your locked targets? If they are going after everything, set them to focused fire and maybe even passive, so you get more control. Set your self a hot key for attack and you can manipulate them rather well.

If only focused fire worked all the time.
I typically do keep them on passive, with a hotkey to attack my selected target. Then they randomly start shooting something else every so often. I've seen it when the icon is on one in the target window, and the others ships targetted are losing hp (and I'm the only one there). It seems to only break with sentries. I have no problem with light/med/heavies. -- I often heard the Sky's the limit, sadly I'm broke fairly often. |
