Is it possible to scan this mission complex down just using the onboard scanner? I've checked out every system in the constellation to no avail so far...

Is caldari epic agent fixed now and back in eve? I know it was broken last week, also when i checked today earlier he didnt recognize my faction standing only the corp standing like last week when it was broken.

I found the site using probes, I don't think the onboard scanner is enough. You're looking for an unknown signature somewhere in that constellation. It took me an hour to find it myself, mostly probing down wormholes and such until I found it in the sixth system I searched. Bit of a pain to be honest.

I found the facility but now I get the msg I need some ID tag when I try to activate the gate. The problem is that tag was in the shipyard which I didnt hack due to the bug, GM finished that mission. Also in mission description it says Its time to put the ID tag to use... I dont have the tag lol, I checked all my assets,ships and I dont have it. So how can I get it now?

Did you need to use probes or just ship scanner?

Probes but its really easy to find it. I think its static.

no, it's not static. and i have a feeling there are a few instances of the plex around the constellation. You need the federal navy tag to get through the gate to the second pocket. The tag is consumed in the process (this means - take a codebreaker with you or you are stuck). There is a number of hacking cans in the second pocket. When you get the prisoners of war, the cans explode in about a minute. If everybody leave the plex after this it despawns in about 5 minutes. You can get spare prisoners if you are lucky enough to hack a second can inside a minute after the first one.

Same thing happened to me. GM completed the mission, but didn't give me the tag. Then had to petition again the next mission.
Another thing CCP fluked: if there's multiple people running the same mission, all probing for their plex in the constellation. How to tell which is who's?... when i finally found my plex,.. the first room was cleaned out by locals already

It's just not "your" plex. I also think there are several plexes in that constellation. It can be scanned down and done by everyone, including the locals. Though the locals cannot access the second room due to no ID tag
You also don't have to kill the npc's in first stage. You should be able to zip by and activate the gate to second pocket, where only few very easy frigates are awaiting you. Could be done in interceptor I guess. Though I cleared the first site.
(which I had to petition aswell, as mission before couldn't be completed. I flew into second pocked without codebreaker as it wasn't mentioned anywhere in mission description and had to petition this mission aswell as the ID tag is consumed upon entry and the gate was locked again.. nice one CCP.)

OK - I'm officially confused by this one (it doesn't take much...) ;)
The mission text says it's in the Aokinen constellation and that it's a long way away in low sec. Aokinen is where the agent is and is entirely high sec... am I missing something?

No, it's in the constellation that the agent is in. There are 7 systems (iirc) in the const that you have to scan to find the plex. The agent considers 0.5 low sec too...

My guess is, that CCP originally planned to move these missions into low sec, like they did with the sansha branch of the amarr epic arc. For some reason they decided against it (maybe because of FW area in black rise), but didn't fix the mission description.
The plex can be found in the high sec systems with a bit of scanning.

besides scanning and a code breaker, do you need to be in a pvp ship, or can a Cov Ops do this mission?

No, probably not. Even if you manage to bypass the first stage without taking any damage at all, in second stage there are like 10 small frigates. They are very low frigs but an untanked cov ops doesn't have tank at all and can't really kill them fast (helios with one hobgoblin II and a gun would be best choice then).
But try it and report back here. Enlighten us ^^

just completed this one - untanked Helios
found the site in one 0.5 system - was empty
went to another 0.5 a few C/BC/BS rats in 1st pocket
2nd pocket 8 frigates
flew cloaked to can, uncloaked hacked can, 6 tries to get it, all this time rats didn't even target me
got the POW, then GTFO
job done
