Honestly, I think these are actually paying accounts.. or at least, payed for with GTC's procured by hacked/scammed/botted isk. So, with that said, I don't think there's much that can be done to stop them from posting initially - and the moderators are pretty much working overtime to get them off the forums as fast as possible.

Pretty much this. Some spammers get deleted almost immediately. The only real problem is, that there seems to be times, that no one is moderating the forums. Certain times of day and some weekends are when the spamming is a problem.
Actually the shrinking forum sections are a much bigger grievance. Some Sections have only few threads on the first page and most of those are keylogger threads. I guess the constant deleting of spam threads is FUBARing the forums.

Unfortunately, I'd wager most of these throwaway accounts are trial or using credit card fraud. CCP is not making money off forum spammers, sadly enough.
Also, why do you think there are so many forum spammers now? Because their ingame macromining accounts all got banned, and they have nothing else to do anymore

Well they can't be trial accounts, so some other ropey method of paying for them is obviously being used.
On a brighter note, at least that's more reventue for CCP, right? Signature locked for discussing moderation. Navigator

Dude it is a keylogger badly disguised as a wii sex toy vid, I think they would get more clicks if they actually said "Keylogger inside, please click"

It's a good sign. It means the current measures CCP is taking are working. This will be fixed too.

You mean sort of like the "Irish" virus of a few years back?

Dear Receiver,
You have just received an Irish virus. Since we are not so technologically advanced in Ireland, this is a MANUAL virus. Please delete all the files on your hard disk yourself and send this mail to everyone you know. That'd be grand.
Tanx.

I for one hail our new Wii sextoy overlords. Maybe it will keep some of these morons posting about dust and their ******ed thoughts.

It's all because of Falc... err... PLEXes.
Before 60 days and PLEXes, you at least had to get on the forum or convo a GTC seller and talk to them for a few minutes to get your fix, but now the stuff is sold on market! Hey, that's it! We should shut down the market!

WOW forums have at least as many as EVE do, always have done. The best time for them is Sunday morning as they are often ignored until Monday. Something to do with the French not working over weekends I assume.
I'm just amazed people fall for this and even when they do they fall for it again with the phishing even AFTER knowing the hackers will know their email address. How people cant grasp that no company EVER asks for a password is beyond me.

Fortunalty I got enough mental capacity to just overlook them.
