Obviously the isk he'll make from the CBank will pay for many a merc corp/alliance to protect them.

I've no doubt that if the Goons went after Chrib, the Veldspar itself would attack them.
The Veld loves Chribba as much as he loves the Veld. Whilst others are off courting Arkonor and Bistot, only Chribba touches Veldspar in it's special place.

This would be the sequence of events...
Goons show up,
Goons warp to Chribba,
Goons lock Chribba,
Goons fire on Chribba,
Huge Cyno opens up on top of Goons,
Jovian battle fleet jumps through and uses their tech to stop the missiles,
Jovian battle fleet lays waste to Goons,
Jovian command give Chribba a special super capital mining ship with 30 strip miner slots.
Really though, I think that even if you could get everything in the right order and get all the men in place to attack him, well by that time he would have seen a huge spike in local and escaped.

I am curious why Goonswarm with their vaunted "Ruin EVE for everyone" hasn't tried blobbing Chribba. You can wardec him in highsec so he can't bring out the Veldnaught in Amarr space and he has a Titan in lowsec space inside a POS available for the taking last time I heard. Why has Goonswarm not disrupted the most trusted man in EVE ? Seems they have no problem ganking Hulks and having spies in high level alliance positions are the only way they can operate.
He would hire the NC and fund the biggest war EVE has ever seen. Im talking 10,000 vrs 10,000. Something crazy with like 50 titans on the field, 1000 dreads and the support fleet getting owned.

Ergo - chribbas goal could be to cause node crashes. Works for him
