Can't find this mentioned elsewhere here but I apologize if this is a double post.
After installing Apoc 1.5 patch I experience EVE to freeze after switching applications with command + tab (I use this to switch between EVE, an internet browser or itunes). Usually the first switch works out fine but the second or third time I switch applications EVE just doesn't respond anymore and I have to quit it by force and restart (which is of course annoying bc usually you're in the middle of doing something). This bug did not happen with Apoc 1.3.
My iMac has the latest Leopard build (not Snow Leopard though)

I figured out a workaround: I'm using now cmd + return instead (windowed mode). Works nearly as good as cmd + tab for switching applications

+1 Here.
The only way around this is to do Cmd+Enter to exit full screen mode first (just like the post above said). I sometimes forget, though. Very annoying.

I'm going to add this here rather than in a new thread, because it may be vaguely related.
I use the keyboard to swap spaces, ctrl key + arrow key to bounce around various screens. Since moving to snow leopard, if I move to the 'space' containing eve using keyboard commands, the ctrl key gets stuck in eve. meaning if i start typing, and hit i, u, f, etc, it italicizes, underlines, and displays framerate. The ctrl key is toggleable, and works just fine if I do not change focus.
I have tried 3 different apple keyboards and a happyhacker keyboard, results are all the same. My machine is a 2008 macpro with an ati4870. I have a laptop I will try to to duplicate this on tomorrow. |

I'm really trying to reproduce this, but I can't. I'm running a hack on the 64bit kernel and 9600GT. I do still have the old issue where you get massive system slowdown when cmd-tabbing back to the desktop. I get around this using the old solution of bringing up the map first. But I've cmd-tab'd about 15/20 times now between full screen and the desktop with no issues or hangs.
I'm reading this should happen after only a few switches yes? Also, have any of you experiencing the issue tried trashing your Prefs/Cache. I know thats a hassle, but I always like to do that after a major upgrade. Things can change and you may have stale data somewhere in your cache file.

This happens to me 2 out of 3 times when cmd-tabbing out. On a very good system as well, no reason for it. MBP 2.8GHz 4GB RAM 9400M & 9600M GT (512MB version)

Happens too me as well, seems like it works if you CMD +Tab out of EVE then when you try to switch by click the icon on the tool bar instead of CMD + tabbing. Works for me now, took me a while to figure it out hehe

I noticed this problem as soon as I fired up EVE after installing Snow Leopard. I usually ctrl-arrow key change between windows, and EVE is running in windowed mode. If I lose keyboard input, or it starts missing certain key strokes (like the esc key not functioning is a sure sign), the only thing I can do to get back is this:
1. go to a different window/space besides the window/space EVE is in 2. command-tab to select the EVE application
then, the system will switch me to the EVE window/space and I'll have control again.
what a pita!

+1 here. This started when I installed 1.5 Apoc patch, and I confirmed that I still see it with today's 1.5.1 patch.

Turning off MulithreadedGL in the config file fixed this (and various other craziness) for me.

Multithreaded OpenGL is turned off by default isn't it?

It's possible I turned it on in the UI somehow if there's a button for that. I'm fairly sure it was enabled already when I installed EVE on my MBP 3 days ago though.

This still happens after this latest patch and it's annoying as hell.. When can we expect a fix for this? This worked fine two patches ago...

Same problem here... EVE crashes after 2nd or 3rd switch to finder.
Mac Pro OS X 10.5.7.
Does anyone actually test the Mac client?

No. It defaults to On as of Apoc 1.5. ---- FREE Explorer Lead Megalomanic EVE Null-Sec Player Influence Map http://dl1.eve-files.com/media/corp/Veritefw/FWinf |
