So... I'm thinking about going into a nice class wormhole for t3 production with a few friends... I can fly a rorqual in a relatively quick time and since it cant fit into a wormhole, I thought I'd build one IN the wormhole. So here are my three questions: Is it even possible to build one in a wormhole? What size assembly array does it need? Does it need to be cynoed into the wormhole?
Please correct me if I'm wrong about it not being able to fit. Thanks.

It is possible, you need a Component Assembly Array and a X-Large Ship Assembly Array.
Cyno into a WH-System is not possible (not sure about jumps into normal space from there).

1. Very possible. Gonna take some work on your part tho (mining minerals or bringing them in to build the components (component assembly array I think ). Or just bring in the components.
2. X-large ship assembly array.
3. No Cynos in w-space. No jump clones either just FYI.
Just to note, getting the thing out will be extremely difficult unless you plan on setting up in a high class system that spawns those big whs. So, make sure you mine a lot to justify it!
My suggestion: Setup in a class 2 or 3 that spawns whs to higher classes. You could even do a class 4 if you think you and your friends could handle the sites. Basically, setup POS, and clear all the combat sites immediately. Then leisure your way through everything else until you have a bare system. From here on out spawn rates will be fairly slow. This will keep other people from really wanting to hang around (nothing to do). But, you now have a w-space base from which you can venture into neighboring systems to mine/harvest/kill sleepers.
Good luck!

Thanks guys! I was just worrying whether it needed a cap assembly array or not. I was thinking to haul everything in my orca (POS, modules, fuel, some ships, etc.) and ahving my friends jump through in their pods first, then my orca. I'm sure we'll be able to get all of the minerals in the WH itself, I just need the BPCs for everything. =)

Since I just did a whole bunch of research on this, I'll fill you in on what I've learned (some of which has been stated above).
1. Some wormholes going into class 5 and 6 systems are capable of fitting one. 2. Some outgoing wormholes from any class system into 5,6,nullsec, or lowsec are capable of fitting them. 3. You can build them with a combination of a Component Assembly Array and a X-Large Ship Assembly Array (not the Capital one). 4. If you build it in anything below a class 5, there is a good chance it won't be coming back out. You may get lucky, but then again, you may miss the very rare wh that will allow it. It also won't fit in even the largest refining array, so no chance you'll be melting it back down.
So good luck! I'm in the process of mining mins for one myself out there.
Cheers, Sen

Could the clone vat bay be used on a Rorq once it was in place in WH space? ------------------------------------------------ I have gone to look for myself. If I get back before I return, please ask me to wait. |

No. CCP has stated this in several dev blogs and posts.

Edited by: Asperoth on 27/08/2009 20:27:10 That's a shame. It would actually give someone a reason to use the clone vat bays. ------------------------------------------------ I have gone to look for myself. If I get back before I return, please ask me to wait. |

I honestly don't see why you need clone vat bays in WH space... unless you get podded by another player...

Imagine having multiple POSs setup in multiple WH systems.
Quick and easy way to move between bases yeah?

But when your clones cost 3 mil each... But now I see your point. =D
