The subject really explains the situation I'm in, i wanna get my empire faction standings up above 0 so i can travel freely in all of empire space.
So, i guess what i need is tips on what corporations i should do missions for to increase my standing with gallente. At this point, i dont think i can take missions from any gallente agent, since my standing is -6. But i read, somewhere, that there are independent corporations, not tied specifically to one of the main empire factions, that grants standing with several of them to a certain degree.
I guess its important to tell that im quite friendly with both Caldari and Amarr, so I'd prefer doing missions in caldari/amarr space.

You can train Diplomacy to max, if you haven't.
About derived standings, what you can do is go to the info page of the Gallente, and see who the Gallente likes, or who likes the Gallente.
Off the top of my mind, Sisters of Eve seem to have quite a high standing with the Gallente, so you could do missions for them. But it may be slow way to reach above -2.0 standing.

Doing missions for Minmatar will raise Gallente standings. You're standings with them is probably poor, based on you being friendly with Amarr and Caldari.

You can run missions for a faction that likes the Gallente, and every time you complete a storyline mission, your faction standings will increase with that faction and a little bit with the Gallente. The Minmatar are the easiest - but they probably hate you, too.
Other factions that like Gallente are the Sisters of EVE, and ORE. If I'm not mistaken, the Intaki Syndicate (?) also likes the Gallente.
If you have no other options, you might do missions for the Thukker tribe to increase your standings with the Minmatar, then do Minmatar missions to increase standings with Gallente.
Whatever you do, don't do another storyline for Amarr, Caldari, Khanid, Ammatar, Mordu's Legion, or any pirate faction. Now that you know you're in a hole, stop digging!
