So we were chatting in C&P channel ingame just now, and somehow the topic of Chribba's Avatar came up.

I would first make a post about it, then put my hand down my trousers and watch the ensuing rampant exchanges. Then I'd probably check out the fridge, find out it contains nothing interesting, then make a post about that too. At that point I would probably be spent so I'd just go to sleep. But then I'd wake up and make a post about how great my sleep was. And then how great THIS post was. And then how great this thread is.

I reckon everyone in eve would come to help him but end up with one massive slugfest as everyone would be neutral/red to each other

You help Chribba, for there may be one day in the future when you may need the services of the most trusted man in EvE. And I, for one, would be recalcitrant about helping someone who screwed with me in the past.
Chribba may be above that, don't know. Never met nor talked to the man except in passing in local. (Heck, I've never hung out in Amarr long enough to peek at the veldnaught either. Should probably add that to the bucket list somewhere above 'visit NOL' and 'Visit Every System in k-space'.)
At any rate..+1 for helping the man out.
