Hi together,
perhaps ypu know this site:
http://eve.grismar.net/complexes/index.php
I scanned many hours after downtime to find the 6/10 DED-Missions in Providence but never found it. Off course i scanned not only the 3 specific systems from the grismar-list: i scanned several systems in Provi too. There was no DED-Mission at all.
Is there any secret i dont know ?
(I used a buzzard, i know how to use scanprobes and my probe-skills are all on LVL 4 or 5. Thats not the problem)
I have read in this forum that i can find "special Places" in the Eve-Universe..."the homespace" of the NPC-Faction-Pirates (Guristas, Sanshas, etc..) It seems to be much easier to find DED-Missions in this special parts of the eve-universe.
1.) Is that true ?
1b.)If this is true: What about my chances to scan there without being poded from the big alliances that are the holders of this special areas ?
2.) Where are this areas for the specific Pirate-NPC-Factions ?
3.) Whats the problem wit the grismar-list. I scanned other systems from the list too. There was always nothing. Ist that list old rubbish ?
Thx 4 u comments.

DED-Misions apear random in systems, there is not a specific sistem for a DED-Mission that will apear after downtime. If a DED complex is made, that complex will apear in another system.
So you need to scan sistems, and you will find DED-missions.
1. If you are going to the "special places", that means 0.0, if you are a neutral you will be poded if they find you. The DED complexes are verry hard, but the lot is great. So my advice is don't go if you are not a good pvp player. 2. look for an npc map and you will find the "special places" 3. grismar-list is not 100% acurate for the DED places (there is not a specific sistem for a DED-Mission). I think is made with a % of probability that the DED complex will apear. I'm only 10-20 % agree with him
Remember there is not a specific system for a DED-mission. Just scan, have patience and good luck.

DED complexes used to be in fixed places. This made them easy to find, which in turn caused problems with people farming them 23/7. Some alliances were effectively bankrolled by complex exploitation in the past.
WIth the changes that introduced exploration, all complexes except 1/10 and 2/10 difficulty were removed from their fixed positions. They now spawn randomly throughout the galaxy. Higher difficulty complexes are more likely to spawn in lower security systems.
Grismar's list dates from before this change, and is now out-of-date. For more information on exploration, see the stickies at the top of the page.

Hello and THX 4 u comments !
well...NPC-Maps... ? Do u have some useful links ? However, i will watch out for these maps. It seems that this "Special Area" is a part of the secret.
I have found this "fixed Signatures" in the past too. But u are right > no chance to make it because these sites have always had owner...
I was flying in Catch a few weeks ago. There i found some (3) interesting Signatures in two differnet systems. But there was not enogh time to get it warpable. But it was RADAR. I am sure this have been high DED-Missions.
The local Holders of Catch followed me off course. The told me to go or to die. Sad but true.

True Sanshas home is around Stain.
It's a troublesome area where several warring alliances are slaughering themselves left and right (cfr recent titan kill). If you'll come here, you WILL be bubbled and podded and the nearest clone station is far, far, far away. - Auditing and consulting

Edited by: Kva Plexcha on 28/08/2009 18:21:33 Accept that scanning in NPC home regions and dealing with the "resident" controlling player alliance is part of life. I currently have a Char scanning in a hostile NPC home region. It took me almost 4 days to get him there past the gatecamps and I have to be very careful moving from sys to sys while I probe.
I have found the NPC DED 6/10 almost every day in this region, currently I am working towards bringing my Ganking Character in to run it. For myself, the chance of instant death from players is much more exciting than doing missions in hi sec, but thats me.
Basically its much harder what you want to do, but not impossible. And please use the term DED complexes, because there are a few DED missions, and these are completely different from what I think you are referring to.
Edit: Also there are lots of DED plexes available in Low Sec without having to go to 0.0, you just have to learn how to scan to find them. I am able to scan and find them pretty much every second day.
Also, as far as I know the other home regions are Guristas, Venal Serpentis, Fountain Angels, Curse
but not 100% sure of this.

Edited by: lo breeze on 28/08/2009 23:01:40 DED complexes are bound to the Region where the static version of the plex was originally.
You can find 6/10's in Losec as well as null sec. Losec is WAYYY more dangerous IMO due to the threat of butt pirates.

1 Do DED-Complexes are always shown as a RADAR type of signatures on your scanners? 2 RADAR site is always a DED-COMPLEX or not?

A radar site, is a radar site, a DED complex is an unknwon until yuo get 75%/90% when its name appers.
Why is there this sudden confusion by a bunch of people that Radar sites are some how Exploration Encounters ? Is there some poorly written guide thats completely wrong and outdated being handed out ? Most people will read this thinking it's part of my post, when its actually my sig :P

THX 2 ALL for the comments.
Well, a DED-Complex is another thing than a RADAR-Site. That was my mistake...sorry.
I am playing eve for 5 years now and i never get a really cool item. Off course, i was a long-time-carebear. Thats changed about 1,5 years ago.
In this time..
I have found two 6/10 DED-Complexes in 0.3/0.4 > only Drones . I have found one 4/10 DED-Complex in 0.4 from Sansha which dropped 4 (!) low faction items (armor hardener / lenses) I have found one RADAR SANSHA-Site in 0.3 which was really pretty good > 5 low faction itmes (Lasers, armor, afterburner)
I never found anything in that way in PRovidence but i found a lot of interesting Signatures in Catch. A few months ago i found a Gurista-Site (RADAR) in Venal in a 0-System.
That was my best hit ever (with the old probe-style) Ther were some very special named BS¦s in it. Sorry i have forgot the name. My corpmate said, that this BS¦s could drop officer-quality-Items. It was an enormous fleet in this site and my TechII-fitted-scorpion was not able to tank the fire for more than a few minutes. MY friend was in a zealot. NO chance.
We had to warp out and ... Off course there was a "Welcome-Team" from the local System-Holders. ;) > U can still see the killmessage in the different Eve-killboards. If u want to know where it exactly was ;).
Well, thats all. Off course i scanned a lot of "only" magno-sites and much more different Gravimetric-Sites. I am scanning one day a week. Mostly i can find Wormholes.
MY AIM:
I am searching for the "real big deals" in my view = really good items to sell or for personal use. That means 6/10 - 8/10 DED-Complex OR difficult RADAR-SITES in the Homeground of the faction-pirates.
But i think there is no big chance for me to get this, if i read what u people out there are thinking about that.
Well, that means LVL4-Farming and Class 2/3/4-WH-Exploration to earn money. Some things never change ;)

Again, You can find 6/10's DED in the lowsec regions. My best day was 2.5 bill in drops in 2 hrs :).
Low sec is very dangerous, perhaps even more so than 0.0, but with no bubbles, if you are careful the threat is a bit more managable. For myself, all I run are Low/Null plexes, and all in "hostile" areas, so I know how to survive them.
I would recommend you try to run the low sec ones first.

I think u r absolutely right. I am mostly probing in LOWsec. I hate bubbles that has not been made by me ;)
2,5 Bill ISK in 2 Hours ??? What kind of items have you found in this 6/10-DED-complex ? >>> Officer-Drops ? What kind of DED-Mission ?

You mentioned your friend said that officer-quality items could drop.
Officer quality is often compared alongside deadspace qualities.
The crappiest officer of a faction is on par with a C-Type item.
The next officer is comparable to an B-Type item.
The second-to-best officer is comparable to an A-Type item.
The best officer has items that compare to X-Type items.
The items found in a plex have values that differ depending on what race the plex is. Guristas plexes drop loads of ISK because carebears will pay high prices for the items. Conversely, Serpentis plexes do not typically pay AS WELL as lower-mark items do not sell for the extreme eye-gouging prices that a similar Guristas item may sell for. In recent times that has been a changing trend with active tanking buffs.
But yeah, it all depends on what you find.
edit: Just so you feel better, I did a 10/10 DED and only got about 400 mil out of it. I did it again and got 2.5 bil. Sometimes that's just the way it goes.

I found a 6/10, got a Pithum A-type Medium Shield Booster, plus a few hardeners, then found another 6/10 5 minutes later 2 jumps over, and got another Pithum A-type Medium Shield Booster.
The 2 Boosters sold for 2 Bill, the hardener I got went for 164 mil, and I have 2 hardeners left plus I got 80 mil in effects and some loot and salvage.
Of course I havent got this drop again in 7 more times of running it, however, that was a very good day
The drops are random, and since Apoc was introduced in my opinion they are less likely to drop than before. But this is my way to play EVE, running Low/Null sec plexes and I'm not too bad at it, and I make good ISK.
A buddy of mine asked me to help him run LVL4 Worlds Collide. Since I hear so much about missions on this forum I did, Boy was I ever disappointed, even my buddy said running plexes is much more entertaining than missions. I just can't imagine grinding missions all the time without the potential of a huge jackpot, or without the threat of a player finding or killing you (I actually like that threat)

THX to you two for additional Information. It is true: It is more interesting to explore Signatures than running LVL4-Missions. Thats one of the reasons i decided to change my carebear.life :).
But It was a little bit frustrating for me that i couldnt find so much 6/10 Ded complexes and/or really cool items in the last 3 or 4 months. Maybe i should scan more often in different lowSec-Areas.
