If the ship dies you lose skills, whether you ejected or not.

Ejecting from a ship is not an issue as long as your hull isn't damaged beyond a point where, without skills, it would end up at 0 HP.

Edited by: Gun Hog on 29/08/2009 01:17:01 You only lose SP if you are IN the ship when it explodes. If you eject before it dies, your SP are safe...but you risk giving your enemy free T3! _______________________________________________ Orca

They changed this is the latest patch, if you eject and the ship dies you still lose your SP.

Off topic, anybody know if self destructing your ship avoids the losing SP issue? *** Currently Playing: Trolls from Outer Space Current Equipment: VISAcard chain mail, +2 Amulet of Epic Whine, Self Banstick +2 WTB: +666 E-peen killboard stats |

That issue was sending your skills back like, -% instead of to a level with 0%.

If you eject from a T3 cruiser before it is destroyed, you will not lose sp. Also, if you self-destruct a T3 cruiser, you will not lose sp. Verified on Sisi, dozens of times. |

You could set to self-destruct then eject, ofc you might want to "cook" the destruct timer if you want it to go off quickly... so you'd need to know you're in trouble... then you probably would avoid the engagement. And yes, the destruct timer does continue once you leave the ship.

Another off topic is why do we have to lose SP at all? It's lame...

It's part of the joy of driving a ship that can be configured according to your whim. And it certainly makes you really think about whether you should get a T3 cruiser or not. -- Warezmy Carr's Skills: Here |

What's lame is complaining about a negligible penalty just because it's unique. Get over it or don't fly one, pls. ----------------------

Edited by: debbie harrio on 29/08/2009 16:57:54 LOL, it's pretty quick to train subsystem and T3 skills up compared to most skills and you only lose 1 or 2 levels off a couple so for pete's sake use your T3 to kill them all or die trying...

ship is one tech level above T2, but it has nearly the same SP requirements.
why shouldn't it lose SP when it goes boom? it's a rank1 skill anyways...
take that as you will. ---
