Edited by: Luskaie on 31/08/2009 06:28:25 Hello, I am just fitting up my Navy Megathron for lowsec level IV Sister/Fed missions, Any tips on this fit?

This fit is cap stable at 38% with my skills, i don't want to lose cap stability by increasing my gun size, im running 418 DPS without drones right now. (Currently taining for Tech II Orges)
Ammo I will be using is Antimatter L, As well as Tungsten L
any tips or suggestions would be helpful, Thanks!

Edited by: Footoo Rama on 31/08/2009 08:55:00 looks ok...
but why not drop a cpr in the low for a 2nd magstab and put one 100mn ab in the mid... No need to be cap stable with both lars on in a level 4 mission... My example is stable at 36% with guns and 1 lar on, 8 minute with both lars on and no guns... so this seems a little better suited with better dps and an ab for mission running. If you do not want the ab you can fit a cap recharger II in the mid. I did need to remove the drone range agumentor, but sending drones out past 50km is not really needed in missions, unless you are a sentry build IMHO

Im looking at it in EFT at the moment, and i cant seem to get it cap stable without both CPR's, I dont know if my skills are lacking or whats happening, but I can onlt get 8 mins with 1 LAR and all guns on, with the AB and the second LAR off.
If I drop the Auxiliary Nano Pump I for a third CCC, I can become Cap stable with 1 LAR and all guns on..

Edited by: Footoo Rama on 31/08/2009 09:21:42 Edited by: Footoo Rama on 31/08/2009 09:19:00 make sure to turn the AB off, you do not use AB/mwd in the cap stable equations except maybe for inty or specialized frig work, although that is not what I think you are doing.
My skills give a peak recharge number of 65 with a -63.8 pull with 1xLar and guns, 6750 max cap... The fit is pretty tight with my fitting skills (no implants) so I would assume we are fairly close on cap/cap usage skills... ------- "Because the Dominix is the Chuck Norris of Eve!" |

Dont see why you would want to have a dual LAR permarunner tbh, its only good for a Dominix or Sleeper hunter ship. My Navy Mega used to run the following:
1x t2 LAR 2x t2 EANM 3x t2 Mag Stab 1x t2 DCU 1x t2 CPR
1x t2 Track Comp w/ tracking speed script 1x Gallente Navy webber 2x t2 Cap Recharger
7x t2 450mm rails w/ antimatter
1x Auxiliary Nano Pump 2x CCC
at least 5 medium and 5 light t2 drones
You really dont need much more than that (got max skills, but still if this doesnt fit, twiddle around, at work atm, and this comp doesnt have EFT so i can check ).

Remove 2nd LAR, upgrade to 425's, fit 3 magstabs. Don't agro whole pockets and you'll be fine. May need some skill training or CPU implant to get it all to fit.
Dual LAR setups are for agroing whole rooms, triggering all spawns, switch on a movie and let the drones do the dirty work. Since your guns won't auto select and fire on new targets dual LAR is pointless.

Edited by: Warezmy Carr on 31/08/2009 16:11:53 Another recommended fit:
Disclaimer: I don't have EFT and I'm basing this on my standard SPARTAN-117 Mega fit. Don't crucify me if it doesn't work.
Megathron: Super-Soldier
High 7x 425mm Prototype I Gauss Gun 1x Drone Link Augmentor I
Medium 2x Cap Recharger II 1x Sensor Booster II (Scan Resolution script) 1x Tracking Computer II (Tracking Speed script)
Low 4x Armor (mission-specific) Hardener II 1x Capacitor Power Relay II 1x Large Armor Repairer II 2x Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Rig 3x Large Capacitor Control Circuit I
Drones 1x flight of five T2 Mediums 1x flight of one T2 Light, two T2 Mediums, two T1 Heavies
Stats (using my skills) Cap stable using Iridium, Iron, Lead, Thorium, Tungsten, Uranium (in other words, all but Antimatter and Plutonium) Targeting range: 87km Drone control range: 74km Effective gun range: 20-94km with Lead ammo (can hit BS all the way down to 7km with Uranium ammo)
I use this weird fit with a sensor booster to target small ships faster, and the tracking comp allows me to do more damage and kill faster.
Using my standard SPARTAN-117 Mega fit (without the second mag stab) I haven't had to warp out of an L4 mission yet, and I haven't had structure damage either. With the additional HP in the Navy Mega's shields and armor, it should be much easier. There's no way you should need two reppers or the nano pump on that beast. -- Warezmy Carr's Skills: Here |

Why 350mm guns? Am i missing some advantage they are providing over 425mm? Also why medium and light drones? I found that combination of 4 sentrys and 5 lights does a better job. Sure you have to be carefull not to loose them. If enemy tends to get closer i just load up on 4xheavys.

Mixture of medium and light drones because BS guns don't track cruisers and frigs well enough.

I run all lvl 4s with the following:
High 7x 425mm Prototype I Gauss Gun 1x Drone Link Augmentor I
Medium 3x Cap Recharger II 1 x 100mn T2 AB
Low 2x Coreli C-Type adaptive nano plating 1x 1x Large Armor Repairer II 1x Magnetic Field Stabilizer II 1x Damage Control II 2x Diagnostic System II
Rig 3x Large Capacitor Control Circuit I
Drones 12x Medium T2 mission specific drones
Not fancy, but it always does the job.

a pure t2-setup wont work with T2 425mm. either you use 7x425mm protos (which deal more damage than ), or you use loads of faction stuff, for example gallente navy mag stabs (-10cpu), and gallente navy hardeners (-20cpu each).
As 7xt2 350s only deal about 20-30 dps more at a lower range, at probably higher cost for the faction gear (compared to the also-high proto prices) as well as lots of sp, it might be worth it thinking about sticking to t1 gear.
4xt2 sentries might be worth it, especially when its a mission where you simply sit and shoot.

I always liked using Dual-250 guns on the Mega. Easier to fit and better tracking.
I got in close and used medium drones for cruisers/frigs.

Here's the setup I usually use. Sometimes I remove the Tracking Computer and put on a 100mn Afterburner. Hardeners, Missiles and Drones are always specific to the mission, naturally.

ewww dual reps.
ah well I made this a while ago. the faction stuff is there due to cpu constraints. with 2 optimal scripts 48km optimal. if you need to be cap stable for a bit you can turn 1 gun off.

although tbh I'd rather fly a domi with 5 sentries and 5 350mm rails. with 2 mag stabs and a sentry damage rig it will do more damage

If folks feel they have to run a dual rep setup why not put a medium repper and a large repper together instead of two large?
Generally when you are getting close to armour I find a T2 med repper with good skills holds the tank fine unless you are getting full room agro, then you kick in the large but often or not the medium holds fine.
You may find two medium handle it ok if you feel you need dual repper.
Personally on a Mega I just use a single large. I use the med/large on the Domi.
