THEY ARE THERE TO COLLECT YOUR TEARS. THE FACT THAT THEY WANT YOU TO ENGAGE IS THE KEY HERE...
IF YOU WANT TO LOSE YOUR HULK, ENGAGE THEM.

prolly going to be a 400mm plated, scramble, DL pulse fit. It'll fry you real hard and can take care of the drones as well.
Don't do it.

You might also want to consider the possibility they'll come back in something nastier even if you blow the Coercer up.

What you really want to do is check local for his friends (Yeah I know the big systems are busy, but If you add them to your buddy list it helps.
Chances are he wants you to engage so his mate(s) can hit you with something else. If I was him I'd have a cloaked bomber in the belt just ready to pounce!

He could have a cloaked deathstar and it wouldn't help much. In high sec friends would be concorded without the agression flag.
I'd be much more terrified of a neut alt basilisk running remote reps and energy transfers.

tbh I wouldnt be worried about a basilisk remote repping a coercer. Now, a guardian, imight be afraid of. * Please use signatures that are EVE-related and do not discuss moderation - Fallout

A t1 destroyer isn't going to have any real tank. He'll probably have dcu + damage mods. Not like you can fit a large armor buffer and still fit guns.
A destroyer doesn't have a large enough shield/armor hp difference to worry about from a logistics stand point. 1x remote rep is roughly 50% of either.
The crucial difference is how paper thin a destroyer can be. Remote shield reps works better for small stuff because its rep then cool down. Waiting 4-5 seconds for remote armor rep can feel like forever in a glass cannon.
So basilisk is a better choice. Scimitar is viable if energy transfer isn't a concern. But then again if he's in a t1 destroyer I doubt he has the resources to have a logistics on standby. *shrug*

i guess the critical difference here is that i consider remote rep to be armor, but never shields. tbh, I dont see much in the way of large scale shield repair other than pos stuff... so i just dont think about it. so in context, a basi using a armor rep... was kinda lol. * Please use signatures that are EVE-related and do not discuss moderation - Fallout

Its useful for small gang logistics and generally with scimitars in 0.0. Anything cruiser sized or smaller. Hac gangs with 2-3 logistics can be very successful. Or a ceptor/assault gang with 1 or 2 logistics can be very annoying.
If you don't need mobility then basi can be useful.

listen to the voice of reason. A destroyer will laugh at your drones, unless it's some newb that doesn't realize he can target drones. --

Not only can the desty wack the drones and then go on to wack the hulk (ouch, 100 million vs. 1 million), but ever since the rig change last week, that desty is almost certainly going to be rigged, either for tank or for gank, neither of which will brighten your hulk's day.

No smack in local. If he needs the ore that bad, let him have it. Do not engage, he is looking for a killmail. If you change your ship names, change them back to your character, if he knows you won't bite he may get tired of messing with you. BattleHulks can work, as long as he doesn't have friends. If you kill him, he will be back in something bigger and/or with friends.

Will not work.
Without a web, and using medium drones, it is very likely they will get out of neut range before you can kill them. If they are AB fitted they have no issues escaping.
If they blow your drones and are still alive your dead. (edit: well, assuming they can deal damage from outside neut range, or don't need cap.)
If your really making a Battle hulk you should get the shield extender rigs and put them on. Then use mids like this...
Warp Scram Web Web Cap Booster
Yes, if your neuting you need cap. There are situations where you could run out of cap. Double webs because the Hulk is a slow boat. You should be able to slap another small neut on there with those mids as well.

My only solo kill, and this is almost a strange point of pride, was in a Covetor.
It can be done.
But yeah, usually engaging is a bad idea.

One thing to note here is that the thief is in a Coercer. You know, a ship with one mid slot. Use this to your advantage.
If he is fitting a point, he will be unable to escape from your point, and he will have zero speed against your drones. With good drone skills, he should die VERY quickly.
If he is fitting an AB/MWD, he has no point, and you are free to warp out at any time if you start to lose. ==========

if you destroy his ship, he will lose 5 mil? and he come back for more. if he destroys your ship, you lose 100mil+ and he will come back for more. therefore, prolly better simply to use cargo expander IIs and mine to cargo hold and drop in stations, to avoid can flipping...
my 2 ISK anyway...
