CCP, I love you, I really do, but sometimes you do things that... well... beggars belief really.
If there was one general consensus to come out of the comments on the social networking site blog released recently it was this: COSMOS is a stupid thing to call it.
You already have something called COSMOS, a stumbling half broken, half forgotton mostly abandoned project that, I'm sure, was in its hayday described as the way of the future. I am also confident that devs of the day spoke at length of the many many cool features planned for future releases, that there was infact no end to the awesomeness that was to be bestowed upon the players.
Now, here comes COSMOS, a brand new project and most definately in the spirit of the day and the way of the future. Its got so many new features planned it makes a player almost giddy with anticipation, and devs promise the world (and all the stars too) will be forthcoming in future releases. One can hardly wait.
Please dont call it COSMOS.

I've been saying the same thing in every CCP post about this.
Apparently they're determined to stay of the FAILBOAT on this one.

Either that or they'll rename the Cosmos missions to something like Super Epic Arc of Doom mission series. |

This is very similar to the PLEX situation. You can buy PLEX and sell it for ISK, you can scan down a plex, you can run a FW plex. please add more variety to the hat you draw new names from because this is getting confusing.

Except PLEX is Pilots License EXtension, while plex(either scanned or faction) is short for complex.
COSMOS is the exact same for the web thingy and the missions.

Not to mention that "plex" is slang and not an official term.
I agree that the name should change. In fact, does it really need a name (after it's released--I realize projects in development need names)? Just integrate it with Eve and just call it all Eve.

Actually, I think CCP is doing a pretty decent job, but the occasional FAIL like this makes me /facepalm.

CCP may as well call it GeoShippies, for all the relevance it will have.
