Sorry if this question is in the wrong spot or if there is already a topic about this.
Where do people get all of those skill books from? Sometimes when I go to buy a skill there are over 500 of them in one station. Do they make them somehow?
I have only been playing for about 2 weeks. (Letting you know just incase this is a noob question )
Thanks for the help!

If they are 364 days left then those are npc orders, if they have 89 days or less left then they are players who got them from other regions to resell.

Oh, you mean they buy them for a lower price in one place and sell them for higher in another?

most skill books are sold by NPC at certain stations, often there is a market to move these the few jumps to a hub.
There are also skillbooks that must be bought with LP from doing missions. These skillbooks are often associated with one faction, minmatar drone specialization for instance, the market for these is even more varied.
I have heard there is one weird hi sec region that is missing at least some of the basic skillbooks. Can't remember which one, devoid or bleak lands maybe.

There are also skill books that are available from the loyalty point store, they are not sold by NPC's so players have to get them from there to sell them on the open market.

Some skillbooks are Exploration drops, the racial Encryption methods and starship engineering come to mind.
There's also a Level 3 mission that drops some expensive skillbooks but not sure if its a storyline or a once per agent regular mission.
EVERYONE SEEMS NORMAL UNTIL YOU GET TO KNOW THEM. |

You are thinking of "Silence the Informant" mission, which usually drops a Science skillbook, such as starship engineering or plasma physics.

they aren't exactly "expensive," but a few can be sold for 9,999,999.99 (as npcs will sell for 10,000,000) which can be a nice drop. but a while ago npcs didn't sell these books, most went for under 10mil anyways, except for one skill Gravaton Physics which was needed to learn one of the skills for interdictors which spiked around 100mil I think.
