Edited by: HMSBlueprint on 02/09/2009 12:04:18 Okay, right ive been in a small argument with my alliance mates for a while, just how many ships does it take to destroy a Dreadnought (Phoenix, Moros) etc, what ship classes? and how long does it take to destroy one?

A solo cruiser could do it, given enough time if said dread wasn't fitted.
To gank a dread on a station after hes taken agro, before his timer (not sieged) is up. I believe you need about 8-10 dreads
I call 'Bull****' CCP. Isn't it great that the alchemy process was introduced & can 'take up the slack?' |

This was some time ago, not to long after RMR launched.
I forgot the pirate corp who pulled it off, but its been done with 30 or so battleships. 10-15 NOS domis + 10 blasterthrons wouldnt take very long at all. Tacky Lensflares in sigs ftw

Edited by: Jovoich on 02/09/2009 12:32:42 Well my dread tanks about 6k perma and 23k for 5min, so no. 2 BSs arn't going to do **** to a sieged dread. tbh thou, it'd be a bit f.ecked up if 200m worth of ships could pop a 1.7b ISK dread.
f.ecked is censored ?! wtf :P

Well I guess in theory it would work with 2 battleships. Neut the crap out of him with domis and you'll get him down eventually. Siege or no siege.

Strategy is really dependent on which dread you are up against and what it is trying to do. If you are trying to take a dread out of commission a couple of neuts will shut off a revelation's guns(or he says **** it and loses tank). Alternatively a phoenix/nag will keep firing to the end due to their guns not using cap. This is if you are looking to take them out of the picture and not fully make one explode.

neuts are your friend - if its sieged it cant do jack shiet if it has no cap - its a sitting duck for 10 minutes. Especially if said dread only has One Repper... ---------------------------

Sorry to dissapoint you, but isk value doesnt have much to do with what ship can pop which in this game. I'd rather this be possible than more isk=more survivability/make up for sheer stupidity, as everyone in this game is not an ebayer and chronic isk buyer. I'm more than aware of that, I like nothing better than killing **** in my frigates. But, there is a degree of ISK and survivability, in both the moduals and ships you buy.

In the case of modules this is due to player demand being higher for the ones that give more survivability. Its more of an economics then game issue(although you could argue drop rate...)

Yes, and back then Caps used to have much much much much less EHP. They got boosted in between then and now by 400% on shields/armor/hull EHP.
It's a tricky question ... 10 dreads can pull it off but it depends what kind of dreads, how they are fitted and how is the target fitted - if he has lg slaves and trimarks ... you might not be able to do it even with 10 phoenix's with full damage mods and overloaded.
The only Dread in which you can solo pirate, is the Moros because it is the only one that does any kind of damage out of siege. Even then the pirating part will be sitting at undock of station for ppl stupid enough to agress you within webb range. --- I smack just for myself.

You can also bump said dread off the station easily in 10 minutes. Siege means he can't reapproach station until he's out of siege (this sucks especially if you get bumped during a cap fight )
@ whoever posted the killmail link for the 1-rep-revelation: most (if not all) dreads fit only 1 repper.. its nothing special. The 4 heat sinks on the other hand..
