hi, maybe u guys have some expeeience with that sort of contracts. are they actually used alot? because everytime i browse through them, i mainly see huge collaterals for tiny isks and long or risky routes. i mean if i can pay a colateral of 80mil, do 20 jumps and get 800k for it...wouldnŠt that just be plain stupid? i would like to use them as a logistic tool but tbh i am "scared" that no1 ever botheres with that kind of stuff and i waste my contract slots for it (and the isks of course) maybe any1 of u experts has some thoughts on it |

There are actually haulers out there that will take those contracts. There was another thread within the last month or so, and some people were having success with pricing the reward at 1-5% of collateral.
Don't be afraid to experiment a bit with contracts - you may even find someone who is willing to set up a steady arrangement with you.

Once I tried to play as a hauler that was going to focus on those contracts. But its just silly, the isk/hour that those contracts generate is... well its simply nothing compared to virtually anything else.
I stopped bothering with them and put my focus elsewhere. From time to time I try to put up a "decent" contracts of my own just to see if I can get anyone to do any work for me. Its rare though. So whenever I need to move stuff and want to be sure its done, I contract a dedicated corp, like Red Frog.

It all depends.
Some people might be trying to scam. You are not allowed to set up a courier contract to a player station that is restricted. That being said you could send something cheap with a high collateral to a place you are sure the hauler will get blown up. That way you get a major payday, maybe even something to shoot at when they pass by.
Sometimes people just are looking for a cheap deal.
I started using contracts a while back. Domi's were selling for 48 million or so in Jita and for 65 million in an outer trade hub. I would buy a bunch and have them shipped in pairs to the the trade hub. 100 million collateral for 1 million pay out. Most were completed within 24 hours. A lot were completed within 6-8 hours. If figured there were Freighters heading that way and they had space available. The low pay did not matter so much because at least they were getting something instead of moving empty cargo space. I find it easier move most of my goods this way atm, I move them to a major trade hub and have my hauler take them the rest of the way.
Another use is for those evil 40,000m3 cargo run storyline missions. I put those up on contract and give the agent pay to the hauler. Saves me a ton of time. I do put the collateral in the 100's of million's just in case it is not completed. Don;t want to lose standings but 400 million ISK is not a bad trade for it.
I am about to get into smaller, shorter, contracts from systems that are not trade centers to other non-trade center system. I do not expect to see much luck with these. then again I never thought people would accept less then 100k per jump to move 100,000m3 of cargo and that happened.
it only costs you the price of settign up a contract to see if the results work for you. It's cheap, so try it.

I regularly set contracts that offer 0.5% of the collateral as reward and I've never had one not taken inside a few days. There are people out there that apparently think completing these contracts is a good idea so exploit them I say. I have better things to do with my time while they haul.

I've always kinda figured these get filled by people who are already making freighter runs to fulfill their own industrial needs, looking to make a few extra bucks on the side. If they're going from one hub to another and are short of filling their capacity, they might as well check the courier market to see if they can pick up a few mil in 'free' profit for the trip.

yep, 0,5% reward to collateral is working pretty good for me too.

I have always priced my hauling contracts around 500K-1M, depending mostly on how quickly I want them filled. Biggest collateral has been about 250M and I've never had a contract close unfinished with these rewards.
I mainly haul between two trade hubs, so it's mostly the same haulers who pick up my contracts and are probably just filling up remaining cargo space for some extra isk. When you think about it, the collateral has nothing to do with profit you make from a hauling job unless you're heading into low sec or null sec. In which case the rewards would probably have to be a magnitude or two higher.
Unless the collateral is higher than the going suicide freighter gank cost (which is running in billions, iirc) there is practically no risk for you taking such a high sec job. The reward might not seem high, but many small streams can form a big river and all that... ______________________
