Perhaps make a command to autojettison when mining. Its very annoying when one has to jettison every minute (or less) to a container or else the excess is lost to outer space when the cargohold fills. This would allow players to sit idle when mining in group situations. If you ever mine with a punisher with three miner 1's you'll understand what I mean, it be nice to leave the computer for more than 30 seconds to you know maybe go to the bathroom or something without losing all activity in the game. Perhaps if you could designate a "drop to" target with three options for destination. 1. Cargohold, 2. Already existing Cargo Container, 3. Outer space, in which a new cargo container would be created each time the jettison occurs. #3 would solve your problem with a pre-existing target that ceased to exist in the case of someone imploding your target for case #2. Just a thought, it'd make my life a lot easier (and less anti-social).

You gave the reason why not yourself. It would allow miners to sit idle in mining fields, just choping away at those roids.

Well the game is "supposed" to be fun. And I don't see what is so fun about not being able to get up from my computer for over a minute without all my work having to cease. With container life spans and limited ore in asteroids this won't get abused to all hell.

Get a little bit of software from cnet.com which records your mouse movements - just record your mouse right-clicking and jettosining when you get ore in your cargo hold.
Rinse, repeat.

I would recommend not using any 3rd party program, that is if you want to avoid being banned...

If you don't like clicking manually every minute, get a config/ship that allows oyu to do more.
Failing that, stop mining. It is a time-consuming and repetetive job (just like in real life).
As for macro recorders, I'd avoid them like the plague. If you're lucky, people will just nick your stuff while you're not there, or do something that would break your macro (destroying your cargo boxes, knocking you out of range, killing you, etc.)
If you're unlucky, of course, you will be banned.
top tip: If you need to go to the bathroom, then just let the damn things stop. You won't die if you don't meet the absolute maximum ore amount in a certain amount of time. And if you're strip mining, 2 minutes out of 4 hours is nothing, really.

Currently I am flying an Exequror outfitted with 4 XeCl mining beams and 8 active harvester mining drones, i fill 464 cargo space in one minute. I have to jettison every minute or I cease to work, its a pain and I wish it could be simplified so I don't have to stay glued to my computer, I like to mosey on out of the room and be social every once in a while. But I'm getting repetative so here ends this thread.... or does it? *crosses fingers*
