Is it because you no longer want our honest opinions on what we think?
Feedback generally insinuates that you don't want to listen to what we actually have to say and that you will go through with your planned motives whether we agree with you or not. You just want to hear what we think.
Feedback:
3. a reaction or response to a particular process or activity: He got very little feedback from his speech. 4. evaluative information derived from such a reaction or response: to study the feedback from an audience survey.

Feeling safe yet?
It was because people were confusing this forum with the Features and Ideas forum. So they changed the name to make the difference in purpose more clear. -------- Ideas for: Mining

Well, lol @ Aluminum plating -- that's strong stuff!
Anyway, I'm upset because there has been a severe lack of communication recently. The recent "Faction Balance Test" was to me what felt like almost a scam in terms of actually balancing the ships.
We've got some 50 posts in the "feedback" thread and I doubt any of those responses are going to be listened to.
Instead, we post dozens of ideas every day and those seem to get blown over by CCP. Now more than ever, they're apparently looking to balance faction ships and you don't see any CCP response saying "This is sort of where we are thinking of going, what do YOU think?"
Once it gets to the test server, it's most likely set in stone.

In answer to your topic title: There wasn't much difference between "Game Development" and "Features and Ideas". "Test server feedback" covers the intended use (according to stickies) of this section much better.

Possibly something to do with the fact that most of those ideas are utterly stupid. Only about 1% of the ideas are even worth reading.

The reason was that too many people used the "Game Development" forum to propose ideas for new features - but that's what "features and ideas" is for. CCP changed the name to make it clear that this forum is for actual SiSi discussions. It has always been, just not named appropriately. So, name changed, nothing else did.
