Zealot DPS > Omen Tank > Omen no drones

Zealot = awesomesauce Omen = grimsauce
Zealot is faster, easier to fit, has more firepower, more range and is tougher.
The omen has a weeny drone bay and is cheaper. That is all. Putting the 'irate' into 'Pirate' |

Omen got less range and dps. But the main problem is more that this ship got not enught grid/cpu to realy be a tank/gank cruiser. Around 150-200 points more powergrid for a resonable fit would help a lot(FMPs+plate or HP+paperthin tank).
The ship isnŠt to bad if you fly it like a stabber, even if I would prefere the standard amarr way of plates + HS a lot more.

Omen = mediocre DPS cruiser, liable to leave you in your pod if someone sneezes at you. Can be nano'd effectively, but the cap is so poor you better hope you have a significant speed advantage as you will not be running for long. Limited to pulses.
Zealot, beam version = fast easy to fit HAC capable of spitting good DPS over all over the field and will small inties and frigates not in close orbit. With AN multi's still provides high DPS at closer ranges.
Zealot, pulse version = eye melting DPS out to nice enhanced scorch ranges (RF disruptor yes please). A little vulnerable to tackle though.

Omen's not a good ship.
Navy Omen though, that's not bad.

No contest whatsoever. Same for pretty much all HACs when compared to their T1 counterparts.
- Omen has minuscule hitpoints, sub-par damage and is extremely cap intensive. - Zealot has superior range, speed, tank, cap and slots ... drones are irrelevant when you kill stuff before a drone can cover the range of your guns.
Bring in the Navy Omen and the picture gets blurry. That badboy has the cap, slots, drones and tank .. only lacking the range and some speed.
I personally prefer the Zealot. Mainly because it has limited downtime between targets (long lasting ammo and limited travel time needed). Navy Omen's biggest benefit is drones. Essential against ECM and small AB targets where gun tracking fails.
PS: triple heatsink Omen (ie. full gank) makes for an awesome gang damage dealer! Pure glass-cannon.
