hey there just noticed im about a week away from a kronos if I want one. How is mission running in these beasts? I don't want to go and buy one to then have issues.
Being that im not that rich it will mean selling off some other ships to buy one and I just want to make sure I'm not gonna be wasting my time/money.
Mostly I'll be running missions. Thinking of running it duel boxxed with an alt in a massive tanked drake and to warp in my firepower to rattle through the mission. Not sure if i should use the kronos or if a megathron would do just aswell at a fraction of the cost.
(will be fittng a tank anyways just incase of respawns or drake DC or proximity aggro)
a nice bonus i see of the kronos is the spare slots for TB.s and salvager

if you can afford a kronos you dont normally fit it on a budget

With all due respect, this does not sound like a good idea to me. What if you lose it? Back to square one?
Also, buying a 1 billion ISK ship and then use a half assed set of modules kinda defeats the purpose of Marauders, which is pursuing PvE awesomeness.
Just my 0.02 ISK.

Replace the faction stuff with T2 mods if you like, even if the faction kit is less than 250 M in my case and preaty much worth it without making you a good target for suizide gankers.
Also since you sound like somebody that is comming from a raven or domi, buy a mega first, check out if you like it and after this buy or not buy a Kronos.
You basicly buying a Mega without the fitting issues, a better tank and a less stressfull capacitor.
You can leave the tanking drake at home, a proper flown Kronos has no issues in this department, even with fittings that are optimized for gank instead of tank.

I'm sorry if people didn't understand my meaning of the word "Budget" what I meant was no pith/gist/deadspace/officer (full fitted)
The factioned fit looks nice strong enough and I'll have to try it out.
i have plenty of ships,but am currenty ISK low. The ship i would be selling is a CNR (currently my alts)
currently I do fly a domi but have used the mega before (but only in PVP)

the one above is pretty good, pull one mag stab for another faction spec hardener and move to t2 mods...

This is actualy what i mean, it is not a insult.
Try the Mega in PVE, see if you like the gameplay with more DPS but less tank and more importent for most people less stable cap. After this decide if you realy want to go this way. There are a lot of people that still prefere the domi for her easy handling(or for ranged DPS in ST fittings) but the Kronos realy is the more powerfull ship, since it can realy on turret DPS in missions with drone aggro and nearly got the same flexibility in his ability to take down sub bs targets with rails at nearly any possible range. It also can apply his damage a lot better than a ST domi(since you will have a very poor tracking with it) at close range.
It donŠt got the facemelting DPS of a Paladin but also it donŠt got NPCs that have extrem resistance for his damgetypes and it can apply his damage between 5-105km very constant and close to his EFT figures(what makes the 600 DPS CM Raven look like **** next to a 850 DPS Kronos).

well, I'll give the mega a bit of a try... since I still have a week on Energy Grid Upgrades V.
I've even been running the missions in an Ishtar, the drone DPS is more than enough to take the NPC's down but I'm looking for speed running these.
Which is why I had the Idea of the dedicated Drake "tank" to sit with aggro while a gank fit ship nuked everything and the drake would be spamming missiles at the same time.
Although If I use my alt as a dedicated salvage boat I could fit 3 TB's to the Kronos and just tow in the wrecks for the alt to salvage them as they come in. (decresing the amount of time spent on clean up at the end)

T2 fit it, aside from Three faction damage mods and a faction web.
If you want to spend some more ISK, work on raising your DPS (faction tracking computers, better MagStabs, w/e). You'll be able to tank everything and back w/ a T2 LAR + 3 specific hardeners

If the gank ship isn't going to be hit at all, Domi will actually produce more dps then the Kronos, up to your drone control range, which should be at least 57km if you're a real Droner 
Tankless FireSupport Domi is either 1000dps at 50/51km with CN rails and T1 ammo, or if you go T2 rails with CN ammo, 1142 dps at 47km, with spec skill at 4 and relevant 5% imps.
