I work 12-16 hour days, four on and four off. The fight starts on the first day of my next 4 day cycle. :/ So I'll be racking up the penalties before I can even get a lossmail. *sighs*
Ohh, well, it gives me 4 days to do... something... Tho by then AF's will be swarming the gates.
You wont get penalised for the first week :)

Mmkay, T... a whole lot of us would like to know what systems to move our alts toward so we can be in place to start this thing off.
Finding out what corps to join only /after/ the event has begun is not going to go over terribly well.

i'd say just head to jita, it's going to be close to there (i think).
and be sure to set up a trial account so you can still train your main.
oh, and i reserve "The deadliest weapon in the world is a minnie and his rifter."
see you guys on the battlefield.

Ships Of Eve RED TEAM has declared war on Ships Of Eve BLUE TEAM. Within 24 hours fighting can legally occur between those involved.
For your convenience we have included the appropriate CONCORD War Rules:
The weekly cost is 2,000,000.00 ISK and you will receive a bill which needs to be paid promptly to maintain the war. If the bill is not paid before it is due then the war will be cancelled. If the war is cancelled then do not pay any outstanding bills for that war.
When an active war has been cancelled, there is a 24 hour grace period during which you can still be legally attacked.
If you are at war with a corporation that joins an alliance then the war will change from being against the corporation to being against the alliance.
If you are at war with an alliance and a corporation leaves that alliance then you will still be at war with the alliance but also temporarily at war with the corporation that left. The war against the corporation that leaves an alliance lasts 24 hours during this period you can attack them until the war expires.
Should you wish to resume hostilities against such a corporation then you need to declare war again.

current points...
RED TEAM 18,528
VS
BLUE TEAM 9,165
Some blue team members may want to log in and help out their team mates :) The 5 inactive blue team members will be kicked this weekend if they haven't surfaced and the teams will be balanced. If no-one opts to move to the blue team I will randomly move some peeps.
BTW. This is fun :)

Originally by: T'Amber This is fun :)
Not only has it been fun, it has been educational. I've never flown Gallente ships before, so that's what I decided to jump into here. I have been dying a LOT (not a surprise as I am really a PvP nubbin), but it's all in good fun and, so far, very inexpensive. The people have been very friendly (with one particular exception), and have been providing pointers to each other, honoring 1v1 agreements (for the most part), and aren't afraid to experiment with their fits. Variety is fun.
I do have a few comments that may help improve things in the future:
1. Time Zone Issues. It seems that the Blue Team lives mostly in one time zone, while I and a few Reds live in another. Because of that, I ended up going for days without seeing a single war target. I ended up going on some suicide runs into low-sec, and dueling (and winning!) against a T2 fit rifter in Rens.
It would be great if in the future people could identify their most common playing time, and the teams could be balanced so that there's some people in every time zone.
2. Hangar Access. I donated a bunch of modules to my team's hangar, as did T'Amber, and probably a few others. But wouldn't you know it... Some jerk wipes the hangar clean. This is why we cannot have nice things!
Anyways, perhaps it would be better to give everyone query access to all the hangars, and then have several 'Hangar Officers' that can dole out batches of equipment on request. Since items can be put directly into a member's hangar from the corp hangar, you don't even have to mess with contracts. That way people can still get free stuff, but you don't have anyone hogging all the resources.
Alternately, contracts assigned to the corp for batches of items at or slightly under market value might be useful as well (but I'm not sure if trial accounts can accept contracts, I haven't tried this). It would be handy to have "10 Blaster Fit Incursi Package" deals floating up there, as an example, and if someone is abusing the system you have a record of who was doing it.
Overall though, this has been a positive experience. I really like the idea of taking a nubbin character and seeing what they can do.
Perhaps a future competition can include a pirating aspect as well as the war declaration - this might help fix the "I'm not going to undock, because I'm the only one online, and the other team has two people" syndrome. Logistics will be an issue here because of the low-sec nature, but perhaps a low-sec based industrial corporation could be involved to clear that up.

Yup, there will be more, but it will follow a different format, there have been alot of good suggestions and this didn't work out quite as planned. Two weeks seems to be a little too long :) Also need to check each teams time zones.. :)
