Howdy,
I just noticed that afocal medium pulse use fourteen cpu while modal use thirteen and anode's use fifteen.
Is that correct? I thought that cpu went down the higher named you went up?
I won't be able to fit a full rack of anode pulse on my Crusader so should I mix them up with modals?
Thanks.

Similar case - Malkuth launcher have (or at least for a long time had) a lower cpu fitting requirement than Limos. So which you fitted depended how much cpu you had spare.
Whether this is intentional or a DB bug I don't know. But I kind of like the idea that no one version is 'best' in every single stat.

Malkuth have lower CPU but they don't hold as many missiles, so its one of those trade-offs.

you got the wrong particle pulse. there are two kinds.....the longer range version uses the higher power...that's what your looking at.
your lookin for tha pulse particle anode stream 1's. got 4 on my crusader now.

There isn't two versions of pulse, there is pulse and beam. Two versions of laser. The beam anode particle uses nineteen cpu and sixteen power.

That's without skills added. I only have weapons upgrade iv, so this takes anode pulse's down to 12 cpu. Crusader has 125 cpu at Electronics V, with 80 cpu taken by micro aux, mwd etc. This gives me 45 cpu to play with.

Simple answer is that for many kinds of named modules, decreased fitting requirements aren't always the case.
For example, for anyone remembering Tech 1 mining lasers, the best ones weren't the easiest to fit. You have to choose the ones you want based on both effect and fitting.

Edited by: X'Alor on 21/10/2004 15:43:22 The gun that you don't have pictured is a particle pulse energy beam which is what he probably has as well as I and not the same as the particle anode pulse stream 1.
two entirely different guns, got both ....... kept wonderin why the particle pulse wouldn't fit on a crusader but the particle anodes do when trying to swap one for one on just one turret mount. figured small pulse is small pulse but they are not when it comes to power use and range. And I only got one of these particle pulses beams......been saving it for an assault ship being i can't fit it on crusader.
the particle pulse beam is just under range of the beams for that size and in same ballpark as power use and activation(tiny bit less).
they may have missed named it but it's a particle pulse beam, not a patricle beam.
It has an optimal of about 2.5k less than the beams, faster rof than the beams with like a 16 grid requirement to which simply doesn't allow me to fit.
they are both pulses i'm speaking of......not confusing the pulse with the beam but thanks for your opinion

X'Alor is just beyond confused, he doesn't think I'm the one who started the topic.
What I'm trying to say is that its beyond impossible to fit full medium anode pulse particle streams without like weapons upgrades five. Anyone saying "Well, that's because other's have reduced cpu" is just being an idiot. Afocals an modals use less cpu than the anode while the modulated which is better than the anode use's even less, so that arguement whatever it is, is pretty crap.
But I'm not sure what either of us mean. I'm pretty drunk right now.

hehehe don't you love the named small lasers.
there are two class of lasers "beam" and "pulse"
the 3 guns mentioned. pulse particle anode stream 1, particle stream beam, and particle pulse beam.
3 entirely different guns. 2 pulse beams 1 regular beam
the particle anode and the particle pulse are NOT the same gun.
the particle pulse has less rof than the particle anode, has greater range, and has greater fitting requirements and more activation cost.

This other phantom laser you're on about doesnt exist

by the way, has eve-i posted the inty stats under the ship info yet?
I mean they are always so upto date and intantly current with everything in game.
