Hi all, thanks for reading.
My question is this, if I was to start a new toon on a new account, and ran enough missions on my main toon, to get the alt a full set of +3 implants, and all the skill books he needed to go be a good little miner, what is the most effective skill plan of doing this?
my main has a good base, can fly cal/gal crusers and is not far from mimtar crusers, and BC's BS are a month away if I only pick one, he also is able to pilot a retriver, but I dont want to invest any more time into mining on him.
The real question here is, what would be the best track or path to get a alt with +3's in a hulk asap, and what kind of time am I looking at here? 4-6 weeks? 6-10 weeks? Taking into account the 100% learning boost of a new toon.
Then how much longer for max yeald on common ores?
So, I was thinking about 2 different routes to go. the first is taking a alt to a good miner/reprocesser and using my main to hual or co mine with hs retriver. The other involves 3 accounts, 1 hualer, 1 hulk, 1 retriver or guard ship ( the main account )
so its really $30 VS $45 a month, and thats also a factor, but how qucik could I get ither set up going to the point where I can buy GTC/PLEX with isk?

Edited by: Evilan Altana on 09/09/2009 16:41:19 It wont be able to fit a fancy or even much of a tank at all, no drones but for a high sec mining alt it works well.
Use your first respec to max int, rest in mem. This schedule here gets your int/mem mem/int skills done in under 32 days with t2 strips and crystals and a little bit of tank. Then you respec to Per/Will train the Per and Wil advanced to 3 then Mining Barge 5 and Exhumer 4

Get EveHQ and use the new character planner and the fit tool. The fit tool will tell you which skills, the new character planner will tell you which race is best to start with.

Race does not matter any more.

I believe that to get best refining, the refiner alt will need to get corp standing up to 6.7 (6.67? 20/3?) at the corp where they will be refining, at least for hisec. This shall be somewhat more annoying since you would prefer to put zero SP in combat/defense skills.
Does anyone have any recommendations for corporations or strategies?

Courier missions. Boring and slow as hell, but it'll get the job done without having to build up combat skills.
Alternatively, just skill up to do *some* combat - L2 kill missions can be done in a cruiser with minimal training, or you could get in a BC and do L3 fairly easily - seeing as how half the stuff (engineering/electronics, navigation and tanking skills) will be useful for a mining ship anyway. |

can i fleet do missions with my main account and get standing that way? the miner alt takes the mission, then sits around while I blow up the rats?

Have your main take the mission. The alt can stay in station, or you can alternatively quickly train up something useful to help, such as remote repair or salvaging. The LP, standings gain, and mission rewards will all depend on your main's skills so there is no need for the alt to train social skills (except maybe connections to make the grinding time shorter). The alt will get corp and agent standings only, not faction.

So I was bored and finished calculating total time. Assuming you dont forget to keep them queued up then it is 61 days all together to be a strictly mining character with t2 strips with t2 crystals for veld, scor, plag, and pyrox, t2 mining upgrades and exhumer 4.
Also 95 days for a plan for a miner with Exhumer 5, the skills to use t2 crystals and get 100 percent refining on all the high sec ores found in belts. Other than somebody else in an orca only mining drone skills and skill to use the 5 percent implant could improve the mining amount. Though for still 95 days you can use +4 implants instead of +3s you can use the +3% mining implant.
