I'd like some filters in the Orders and Transactions tabs of my wallet.
Ideally I'd like to see the market quickbar there, and that one click on an item would filter so you only see orders/transactions on that item.
It would also be nice to be able to divide the orders view by region.
I also support these previously mentioned ideas: -marked own orders in market view and ability to modify right there. -role(s) to modify corp member's corporate orders -Personal wallet divisions tied to a new skill limiting how many you can have. -hirable market agents to view the markets of other regions.

sorry if this has been added before, couldnt make time to read all four pages:
() Shared corp buy/sell orders, such that I cannot only redirect the flow of money towards/away from the corp wallet but my corp mates can also adjust the pricing if I am hindered. For security reasons add a corp order overseer role or sth.
() Not nearly as important, but neat: batch selling. Allow me to mark several items, right-click sell, bring up a screen that tells me the total sell price and that overall I am selling at +-xy% of the regional average.

On the Orders page, the buy or sell tables. It would be nice to have any one of these three options,
* "folders" like the quick bar - Though the least useful IMO since orders come and go. * A tree view of my buy and sell orders that mimics the regular market view. * Or, my prefrence, additional fields in the table I may use to sort by Group, Category, etc, such as minerals, ships, ammunition, etc etc

With more talk about a web interface for modifying buy/sell orders from outside the game, I'd say getting rid of the web interface for modifying buy/sell orders from outside the game would be the biggest feature expansion for me.

-Separate delivery bay divisions for each wallet division.
-Raise the courier contract limit to 1,000 items and something approaching reasonable volume, like 700K M3
-highlighting of corp and personal orders in the market window
-Ability to modify corp mates orders through the corp orders window
-allow us to turn off the auto-refresh of the orders view like we can for the market view
-search box for the orders view like we now have for hangers and cargo bays
-the ability to auto-repeat contracts (for an added fee) for BPCs that have the exact same Type/ME/PE/Runs attributes
-The ability to turn off local in Jita completely. not just turn blink off and minimize it to ignore it, but the ability to place a SOLAR SYSTEM in your block list. I like to log certain chats I'm in. I dont like logging a megabyte of scam spam text every time I pop into Jita to buy something. How is this market related? It frees up our block lists and contract block lists and also makes using Jita easier, and would also slightly reduce network load in Jita since the server wouldnt have to relay all that text to anyone who just blocked Jita.
-Make the contract interface more intuitive. Make it useable more like an expanded, advanced version of the market, where you can see EVERY item, not just the items that are allowed on the market.
-contract window filters for blueprints by ME/PE range, minimum run count, and original/copy.

Edited by: Brinkken on 20/09/2009 15:35:23 Banks need some kind of in-game implementation if they are ever to be viable. Set them up similar to corps but explicitly as banks. Give them the ability to set loss prevention protocols, like requiring two or more authorizations to allow any employee (even the CEO) access to cash. Then do all the bank telling through ATMs that banks purchase and maintain at stations.
This allows banks to be more secure and profitable than handing out cash willy nilly to employees. It also provides the possibility of regional markets where multiple banks can compete for market share since individual banks' influence is limited by their ATM coverage. Fraud is still possible (as it should be), but banks should be inherently more secure than corps.
And how about a "credit history?" It could be as elaborate as you care to make or as simple as an e-bay style thumbs up/down ratings system. It would reveal a player's longevity (by # of ratings) and general tendency to "play nice" (by positive/neg feedback). Security rating is sort of like this, but player feedback would be more meaningful and players could say why they gave a guy a thumbs down if they chose. I think a tool like that would help stimulate lending and create a better niche for banks.
A finance/banking skill group would be cool if banks ever got off the ground. Like leadership but for banks.
Also, not just for banks but in general, some accounting tools in-game would be nice. Like a basic balance sheet or statement of cash flows. Somewhere I can see my inventory grouped by item, without respect to what planet it is on. i.e. tell me I have 100 of module A, not just that I have 5 at this station, 6 at this one, 4 at another, etc.

Edited by: Anas Damona on 21/09/2009 00:47:12 Some ideas I'd like to see:
Central Bank: Minimum deposit of eg 10 billion ISK, pays out automatically at a fixed (or slightly varying) rate. Player banks could then tie their interest rates to the central rate, giving the consumer some peace of mind.
War Bonds: Offered by the four empires, and requiring high faction standing. Better payout than the central rate, but longer/fixed term.
Public Companies (Suggested earlier in this thread): Again, these could be tied to NPC corps, with 'good practice' providing LPs or faction items for corp members. If there was a non-ISK incentive to running a good business, then maybe scamming would be less appealing. |

Tired of having to dig through contracts to find these
I was going to voice out to allow for my search filters on contracts to not reset itself or be savable every time i right click to FIND CONTRACTS WITH ITEMS, or alternatively allow me to go back to the "main" contract previously requested (i.e; non auto-updated) results page. Points below will hopefully explain why I italicised those two words.
I understand that one of the already available solutions/methods is to simply type in and specify name of the item you want, click GET CONTRACTS and it'll maintain the same filters. Once done, clear the ITEM TYPE (EXACT) or DESCRIPTION then click GET CONTRACTS again to complete my manual, pseudo process of returning to the previous "main search results" page complete with the other initially specified filters. Now, why am I contradicting myself? To me this means (in layman terms; technical amateur here) that I'm possibly contributing to the performance load by requesting for results twice, thrice in a short span of time to go about my business.
That aside and more in direct relation to what I quoted, I and speaking for myself only, believe that Trebor's suggestion requires less work and is easier to implement into the client, whilst at the same time fulfilling my needs to a large extent from a trader's and/or end-buyer's perspective.
ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS ON CURRENT CONTRACT SYSTEM:
In conclusion, I am not advocating to forego the contract system entirely. Some quick general thinking brings up the fact that it is still useful and functional for the following (but not limited to) transactions:
-A separate market for (mostly) researched blueprint copies, or (unfortunately) unpackaged or researched blueprint originals. -A means to sell other goods which is no longer possible to repackage (I believe there's a whole other thread/discussion pertaining to these issues. Doesn't really fall into the marketing category per se so I wouldn't elaborate) -A system to privately carry out businesses between any two parties (e.g; Builders A, B and C mutually agreement to take a shipment of various items from Corp A at set intervals. As others have suggested, storefronts perhaps?) -A means of simple item transfers between characters on the same account -A less temporary and easier to access means of keeping receipts of business/personal loans (not sure how many do this)
In layman terms, compared to the market, the contract system simply looks like a very unorganised yard sale with stuff just strewn one on top of the other. The contract UI badly needs some improvements and changes. I'm going to try iron out a few more specific ideas to constructively add on top of those already being suggested by other posters here.
As an end note, hopefully the CSM will take this post into consideration; at the very least as just another player with his (limited) understanding and concerns on the current market related user interfaces.
Regards.

Ok. I've steeled myself for the onslaught of flames, but...
I'd really like to see them add the ability to limit market buy orders to hi/lo sec only (tie it to a new skill or not).
I know: 1) grow balls and pick up your lowsec stuff; 2) drop out of the market; 3) it would make trading too complicated. I've seen similar comments all over the place. I trade in both, depending on the area.
Bottom line is that it would make trading 'safer' for people, the result being greater competition in hisec, and would avoid 'wastage'(items that sit unsold in inventory) in lowsec, and make low sec trade more profitable for those who wish to do it.

1. Corporation NAV calculator VIA all corporation Wallet/hanger/deliveries/in space/etc assets automatically and just use the daily weekly average of the items prices!
2. STOP the .01 isk price wars... should change it to something like 1% of highest/lowest weekly average values for sell/buy orders!
3. Make more defined roles for manufacturing/research/etc in corporations hangers/ POSs.
4. Increasing the item database limit on TRITANIUM piles and Shares dividends (along with everything else i guess) would be nice form the 2.1xxxx billion to something a bit higher or perhaps and EVEN number like 3b or 5b?
5. In game SHARE trading Tool... please! and perhaps and AUTOMATIC recovery tool (paying them market value of course) if and account or corporation that has shares gets [CLOSED] or goes inactive for more then 1 year?
thats all i can think of right now... ..

Introduce the completion time and collateral options that exist for courier contracts to item exchange contracts.
For example, a manufacturer creates a contract to buy 10 million units of tritanium for 30 million ISK, with 10 million ISK collateral, and an expiration of 3 days. The seller who accepts the contract, in this case perhaps a miner, then has 3 days to deliver the 10 million units of tritanium. During this time, the buyer cannot cancel the contract. If the miner fails to complete the contract after 3 days, the buyer's 30 million ISK is returned, along with the seller's 10 million ISK collateral.
Currently in EVE, risk in the market is imbalanced in favour of buyers. A buyer can place a contract to buy an item, which might lead a seller to complete the contract, either by buying the item from someone else, buying materials and producing it, or transporting it from their hangar to where the buyer needs it. All of these things may take time (often a lot of time in the case of production), and at any point during that time, someone else can complete the contract, or the buyer can simply change their mind and delete it. There is no risk to the buyer, but the seller must often make an investment in time and ISK and risks losing out if the contract vanishes before they can complete it.
Real world companies often operate in a chain in which their costs are to some degree fixed by agreements with suppliers or through the use of futures and options contracts, and their income can be similarly guaranteed through agreements with customers. In EVE, unless buyers can find sellers who they're willing to trust with their ISK while their order is produced, or sellers can find buyers who they can trust to pay them when the order is ready, there are very few options for mitigating risk.
The above change should redress the current imbalance, and since the functionality already exists in courier contracts it would hopefully be quite an easy feature to implement. |

- Extensive market functionality for COSMOS and Moondoggie (new In-Game-Browser).
- Allow corporations to integrate their IGB websites with Storefronts.
- Market Data display options for the in-game map.
- Fix the billboard bug and introduce in-game advertisement creation tools. Allow corporations to bid against each other for system, constellation and regional display time. Initially the advertisement tool could be a simple single-frame or slideshow feature. Later iterations could perhaps include the option to import video (a settings option could be introduced to deactivate billboard advertisements, similar to the current chat log option).
- Allow votes to lock down assets other than blueprints.
- Introduce new corporation tax tools, especially on refining and LP. Market transaction tax could be introduced as well, but would obviously be relatively easy to avoid using a market alt. It would still be convenient to have the functionality there for people who would like to use it though. Bounty, mission reward, LP and refining taxes are more meaningful as a missioning or mining alt requires more time and skillpoint investment than a basic market alt.
- An auction system for leases on station facilities owned by NPC corporations, with the ability to invest in improvements and alterations. Lease holders could determine the fees for using station services in the same way outpost services are managed by their owners.
- Ability to open multiple market tabs to compare different items side by side.
- Ability to drag the tabs inside the market window (such as market data/price history/my orders), to separate windows.
- Ability to save market data to be viewed later in-game.
- Ability to overlay market graphs for different items.
- Adapt the LP for kills system in FW for mercenary contracts. Substitute LP for ISK, or allow LP to be traded and offered as payment.
- Broker system to allow automatic updating of orders at skill-determined time intervals by a given amount above/below the highest/lowest order within a given range, limited by ceiling/floor options.

Some previously mentioned ideas I support (copy pasted):
- Separate corp roles for creating and cancelling production/research jobs.
- Courier contract size limits should have been removed a long time ago.
- Better calculator with formatted value display.
- Less laggy market browser & 'my orders' browser.
- Increase/decrease order by XX/0.01 amount of ISK (right-click option). (I think a button to match or go 0.01 ISK above/below the lowest/highest order in station/solar system/region range would also be helpful. This wouldn't help with 0.01 ISK wars but would perhaps make them more bearable).
- Increase amount payable via dividend mechanism.
- Corp share trading in market tab. (The price history tab could also include dividend history).
- Contract API.
- Share tracking journal.
- Short Selling (Opposite of Margin Trading). (I think the basic tools for this already exist in loan contracts, but I doubt anyone uses them. Bringing the functionality to the market window should help provide a proper audience and create a functioning market).
- Introduction of Futures contracts. (I think the idea I described above for item exchange contracts could be a step towards this).
- Incorporate share trading and reporting into COSMOS. This will come in handy when you read the IPO's business model and such.
- A real working loan contract, where the collateral is locked (like a BPO) and the payment terms are set.
- Transaction data visualisation -- lots of pretty graphs: units sold by item, profit by item, sales per customer, profit per month.
- Highlight personal and corporation sell/buy orders in the market window.
- Allow modification of sell/buy orders by right-clicking on the order in the market window.
- Personal wallet and hangar divisions similar to what is available for corporations.
- Have the S&I Interface/API log who delivers/cancels a job.
- An additional Marketing role in the corporation so that ANY member with this role can adjust Corp market orders, not solely the person who put the order up.
- Some way to tell BPOs from BPCs at a glance.
- Ability to start multiple manufacturing/research/invention jobs of the same type/parameters at once, (i.e. shift-click to select multiple BPOs/BPCs, then the available slots).
- Alliance level access to POS. Alliance use of copy towers, with copies returned to corp hangar or an alliance hangar.
- Allow characters to set up a system to give money periodically to someone else.
- Ability to add items to an already existing sell order.
- Ability to look at an item's market history for just one solar system.
- Ability to zoom/adjust ranges of market graph.
- Meta level on first sight like tech level.
- Moon materials included in loot drops in level 4 and 5 missions, high level/difficult complexes and in rat drops and hauler spawns in 0.0.
- Right-click option on market and non-market items (as hotlinked or in a hanger) for "Get Open Contracts".
- Bonus for early completion to public courier contracts.
- 3, 6, and 12 hour completion windows for courier jobs.
- Auction contracts assignable to a specific corp.
- Search function in contracts history (by item).
- The ability to turn off local in Jita completely.
- Contract window filters for blueprints by ME/PE range, minimum run count, and original/copy.

Highlight your orders.
See who is selling before you buy. Add blue / green highlights for corp / alliance. Would rather buy from a friend, and would rather not undercut one selling.
Player Owned Outposts can block neutrals from buying and selling, owner can kill trade orders to prevent remote buy / sell scamming.
Make faction items sellable / buyable so we don't need contracts for them. Contracts should be for unusual offerings (like officer mods) or for bundling sales. Failing that, another set of contracting skills, with +10 contracts per level.
