SpitzersStrumpet	Posted - 2009.09.12 18:13:00 - [1] As you all may know, the latest patch claims to have fixed a de-sync problem between the servers and the client: "During Apocrypha 1.5 we identified and fixed several potential causes for client-server simulation desync. Additional work in this area for Apocrypha 1.5.1 revealed the root cause of the remaining desync issues. We believe that we have now fully eliminated desync issues as related to the physics simulation. More on this in an upcoming Dev Blog." Prior to the patch, I faced a de-sync bug which killed my buzz for EVE. I thought I would share the story and the screenshots, in case others encounter it and the patch has not fixed the situation, because it is totally not cool. I warped into a PVP brawl to help break up a fight. Just as things were coming to a start, a large gang jumped into system, so my gang decided to scatter. I set my phobos to warp to the nearest station. I began to warp off as enemies landed at the gate. I was in warp- full warp animation, and yet my ship started jittering back and forth from the gate and space, very glitchy. I then became webbed, scrammed, and disrupted by multiple ships, but according to my overview I was 1,400,000KM away. Again, my animation was jumping between the gate and deep space. I could not shoot anything, as I was "too far." I could not jump through the gate, as the gate was 1.4MKM away. I could not warp because I was pointed by multiple ships according to the game. So what happens? I die. Now since it takes a substantial amount of time to down a heavy interdictor, I had plenty of time to rage at how bugged the game is. In fact, I had so much time, I took screenshots and pasted them into photoshop to save out as jpeg's. SEE SCREENSHOTS (You can see I'm 1.4MKM away from the nearest enemy) Bug Screen Shot 1 Bug Screen Shot 2 Typically if something stupid/silly happens that is obviously a glitch in the game, I petition and get reimbursement like any other player. No problem. This time, no reimbursement can be made because "nothing can be found on the server logs." Wait? What? Even with screenshots I can't get reimbursement? We aren't talking a T3 ship here, we are talking a phobos. Which truthfully I shouldn't even care about as it's a dime a dozen, but the mere fact that this bug was fixed AFTER I had already lost a ship and petitioned, and I received nothing, leaves me anything but satisfied with the reimbursement system CCP offers. Does CCP think I spent my life altering screenshots to save a phobos? Probably not, but still...screenshots should hold some ground here CCP. The fact I was quick and on my toes to catch a bug, in hopes it may provide some insight, should at least have seen me a "Thank You." I didn't even get that. Cheers - to not reimbursing a long time player with unaltered screenshots, for a bug you fixed a few days later. Best, Spitz

It was funny, I loaded at the gate, moved/cloaked, and no one came close (to decloak me), but they still engaged. I sat there unable to do anything because I was "cloaked", staring at my clear ship, as they took me down. Server logs showed nothing, unfortunately I was so confused at the time that I didn't get screenies. Poor Pilgrim.

It sounds like something the county clerk's office would say. Wouldn't a better response be: "Dear SpitzersStrumpet, Thank you for the information. You will be happy to know we are working on a fix for these occurrence. It will be out in (2) days. Rest assured this won't happen again and sorry for the inconvenience." Quite frankly the only policy that should be followed is customer service.
