I have been mission running for a variety of Amarr and Caldari corps for around a year, as well as monkeying about with ratting and such. Due to my empire bias, my standing with Minmatar and Gallente has reached an alarming low, and I can't enter their space without being slapped about by their respective navies. I have diplomacy trained to level 3, but this only gives me an effective standing of -6.73 with Gallente and -4.95 with Minmatar. Because Diplomacy will only provide a 0.4 standing increase per level, I dont think the situation can be rectified, and i'm most likely precluded from any friendly engagements with sais empires and their agents. I was wondering if anyone more knowledgeable than me had any ideas about how to raise standings with the hostile little beggars and improve my situation. I think it is most likely not possible, but any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

First, get diplomacy to 5. Second see what your corp standing with the federation is. you might be able to fly around there if the corp standing is high enough. But..... start flying for sisters of EvE or minmatar missions and work you way up slowly. Make sure many of your social skills are to 5 to make the process go faster.
Alt method but much slower.
Fleet with a person doing missions in gallente space and have them do the fleet turn ins. you will get corp standings fast and the story lines will help you get standings fast. --------------------------

There's some gallente agents I believe that aren't in gallente space, that just may in fact hire you.
They don't have to work directly with the gallente, just be affiliated with them in some way.
Also, if you train to level 4 diplomacy you can probably enter some gallente low sec and do missions there until your standing increases enough to enter their secure space.

Edited by: Quintus Varro on 13/09/2009 04:07:04 Mmm...No corp, so that wont work. The low sec idea is good though. Stupid of me to let the situation get this bad. Thanks for the replies. I reckon I will try to find affiliated bods and stary the long haul back to acceptability.

Decline all missions against caldari/amarr or you'll end up with 4 empires in the negative.

As I've come to understand it, there is no 'alt method' that will help him recover his faction standings. While he can fleet up with another that can run the missions and improve his standings with some corp, storyline faction standings are not shared so he could have a 9.0 standing with say Republic Fleet but still no agent will talk to him since his Minnie faction standing is so low.
If I'm mistaken please enlighten me as the more I do combat missions, the more I seem to be painting myself into a corner with one faction or another. I don't see how you can possibly juggle and keep all the factions talking to you (with combat missions).

Why do i need to wait 5 minutes when i didnt even make a post before, and why does it forget my post then :/
Anyway, doing combat missions and switching between agents makes it trivial to keep all factions in the positive, I think amarr is my lowest standing, but all four are positive.
To keep them positive obviously you got to decline all missions against another empire faction, then your standing will decrease fast.

Because you have a bad browser…

1. diplomacy gives in percentage, so it's more than 0.4% when you're below 0.
2. as usual we've got it easier. Do some SoE missions, the storyline is perfect to begin kicking you up almost to lvl 3s and there's some cosmos agents hidden around to boot: you'll save your gal/min even without ruining your cal/amar much. There's no such thing as a SoE equivalent for the other side
