Yeah, this isn't going to do any good, since all we'll get is a tap-dance from CCP about how "Our crazy patch and immediate consequent huge server problems have nothing to do with the fact that you're missing 25 huge ships and tens of billions in items, fuel, ore, and minerals (constituting approx 10 orca-loads of stuff) from your POS in wormhole space. They must have been stolen by your wife."

Dear CCP whisper,
I filed a petition about a what if situation as follows:
1) I get a courier contract worth 1B in collateral. 23:59:59 minutes left. 2) Server dies and when it comes up, the contract expired, package is unopened.
Result:
As for a GM (I can post the reply and name if you want), I have no possibility to get the expired contract collateral back.
This immediately makes couriering an unpredictable profession, where you pour in billions and pray that the server won't exibit blues. That is, no control of what we can do but passively pray for the server to never crash, which is clearly not the case.
Considering other losses (ie ships) are reimbursed, I find this discrimination unacceptable, expecially since it's easy to see off the logs how a contract with several remaining hours before the server crash, should be considered as high probability of success if the server would not crash. Expecially on a character (my freighter alt that is) with hundreds of succesfully fulfilled contracts with not a single failure ever.

At the very least, the contract should be "undone" i.e. collateral is refunded and unopened shipment package is removed from your assets and returned to the contractor - else some punk got a very lucky day for no real good reason.
