I have come up with a new type of component for ships that would add something to the game - similar to what we have in the real world, suicide bombers. Say they fit onto High Slots and different sized ones give different sized explosions. Would be useful for two things - Taking out Stations as an actuall battle plan or - Blowing yourself up to cause as much damage as you can, if you are going to die anyway.
Then there would arise the use of them in cheap ships to kill enemy BSs in Empire Space but of course this will boot the hell out of your standings.

I like the "BOMB" idea, but they can't have any effect on stations. The BOMB would be good for making a pirate think 1st before just blowing you up. if he is going to loose his ship also it would stop all the ganking of players that are just mining.

When I say stations I am referring to POS not NPC structures in Empire space.

Not if a skill is required to be able to use the component; eg. Electronics 5, Bomb Operations 4, and 5 for large bombs, this means that it would take a while to train an alt and thus noob alts using this equipment would not be an issue.
Note, if you made a trigger on a high slot which exploded with tremendous effect, and you could buy explosives to fill your ship to increase explosive power, you could greatly increase the explosive capacity. The different types of cargo explosives may all be different to do different types of damage each in themselves requiring certain skills.
eg. Nuclear explosive operations- +100m3 nuclear explosives per level (requires Bomb operations level 5 to train)
Furthermore it would add another possibility of how this attack could be countered, such as Explosive Detection equipment. (anti terrorism)
Of course it will give small armies a different way to take on bigger armies in the form of guerilla warfare, with this it would no longer be a case of whoever has the most guns wins, there would be much more tactics to it.

ROFLMAO Alexi,.....love the idea, Eve would be a lot more dangerous and less ''im bored lets go kill some noobs'' but also it would make it awesome for barganing your way out of a sticky situation. Someone said, we would have terrorist corps, well why not? Aren't MoO and CoW terrorist corps? They hunt down people and kill them for fun, is that piracy like they claim??, i dont think so, it's terrorism, so technically Terrorism is in the game already, this would just make it more fun :)
P.S i think it would be a little better if you could only activate ''bombs'' in 0.6 or lower as 0.7 + would make empire space pointless as pirates would just blow noobs up all the time....what do they care about sec status, the lower the better in thier oppinion. Nice idea...keep em coming

Guys, check out the market, make it show all items and look at small smartbombs. There already is a module that will destroy your ship and inflict 1000 points of damage to everything nearby... I haven't seen the module anywhere yet, but the fact that it's already in the market data makes me think that it will be availible eventually.

Guys, check out the market, make it show all items and look at small smartbombs. There already is a module that will destroy your ship and inflict 1000 points of damage to everything nearby... I haven't seen the module anywhere yet, but the fact that it's already in the market data makes me think that it will be availible eventually.

That is as simply done as making the explosives contraband, as well as the module when it is in a slot.
