So Im considering a new computer purely for running eve and being direct x10/shader model 4 capable.
Try to keep it in a pretty reasonable price and No I really dont care what company makes it or if is a "diy" pc.

how bout you not build a PC or purchase one til you can figure out other uses for it than playing EVE.
I'm dead serious on that. You are going to be dropping 800-1500+ dollars (USD) on a PC that you want to do one thing with.
jeeze man, just buy a HDTV and hook your computer up to that instead, at least you could also watch TV when someone pods you for making this thread.

You need to do your own research on hardware review sites. Finding the right PC graphics card can be hell. Here's an article by Tom's Hardware on way they believe to be the best video cards for this month:

I just got my new computer, though I didn't buy it because I wanted to... my last one decided to catch on fire and stop working.
8GB of RAM is fun 
Though I did cheap out and only got the GTX 260 graphics card
And now I need to take a 5 minute nap before I have the energy to post again. |

My only problem with it was, that my PSU might not fit, what I listed here is exactly what I will have in a month or so, cept the PSU, and I have a 600W insted of the 750 I linked.
I have my 4870 already, just need the case/MB/CPU, and my 8 gigs is 800hz and not 1066.

Just depends how much you want to spend, but the price of ATI cards is dropping fast, the 4850 should be fine, like the guy above I got a 4870 which was not very much more expensive. Try to get one with a lot of memory, like 1gb.
