Plans can and appear to have changed, it's useless shedding tears, as many people will point out EVE has always, and will always, be a case of adapt or die. Every space holding alliance will have to change their military strategy to adapt to the changes in game mechanics.
That doesn't stop people who have spent billions of personal / corp / alliance isk being annoyed that their "nano grid cleaners" being a bit miffed tho.
I personally welcome my new Supercarrier Overlords.

Titan should be able to go into some kind of siege mode, for 10 minutes.
Then, support ships (subcaps, or even sub-BS) could be able to dock with it (or people could clonejump to it). And then, those support guys would be able to man 1 gun each on the Titan. And those guns would be like POS guns. And there would be, like, 20 of them. So, we'd have 20 people having loads of fun, while Titan is getting killed.
And guns should make "pew-pew" sounds while shooting, but I am not sure if anyone would be able to hear those sounds.
And it could have a tunnel that leads to the core reactor (which can be killed by an X-Fighter).
Or it could shoot battleship-sized ponies with its super weapon v0v

This would help to bring about more sustained and epic battles.

Certainly like the mobile station idea to a degree but brings up way too many issues and potential metagaming.
As for the one shot per 10 minutes that is good in the sense that it limits the alliances that have titans (altho it only gives them incentive to build more not less) and the smaller alliances and newcomers have less incentive to build them.
The HP boost is a good thing in a fleet fight becuz now theres a reaon for the titan to stay and fight altho i highly doubt we will see alot of that. Perhaps AAA/Atlas can go up against Goons/NC/and co and bring all their tiants and use the one shot ability on each other. Means less titans very quickly!

i'm a fan of any system that gets titans to actually use the turret slots and has them stay on field as part of remote rep gangs. the huge poster/trailer art for eve invariably has huge fleets rolling in swarmed around the titan that's in flagship position, and that would be pretty awesome.
the reward of fielding it has to outweigh the penalty of possibly losing your 'go anywhere' jump bridge though. i was hoping for a DD nerf, titan boost, and we're at least halfway there already -- Check out my EVE cartoons |

On the plus side I'll finally be able to kill all the station hugging carriers in Curse (insert other NPC 0.0 regions here as well).
Also, I'll die a lot less with DDs gone.

MotherShips to me are the supersize version of a Carrier, right? (Rhetorical Question) Titans to me are the supersized version of a Dreadnought, right? (Rhetorical Question)
As such, Titan's I think should be used that way.
Beside's they dont call it a Capital Bomber right? That's what Stealth Bombers are for. Sure boost the Titan in some other way but the DD is just ridiculous.

I have been waiting for this announcement, and now its here, I am slightly confused.
Removing the DD is the single most important actin CCP has taken in Eve in the past 3 years, 100% necessary, and way way overdue.
But this single blast weapon? I mean seriously, wtf.
A titan costs 45 BILLION isk at least, and figured in logistics and BPO etc it is much more, it takes a LOT of man hours to produce, and is supposedly the PINNACLE of eve warfare, and it gets a 1 shot 10 minute recharge gun that will virtually never see the light of day in fleet warfare.
A hp boost lol.
I know most people don't own Titans, and as such its a "well who cares, fk the Titan owners" general mood, but overall I personally am disgusted wiith CCPs move here. theres only probably 200 of us in game who own one, so we will not have a big voice, and no one is actually gonna care, but I feel it needs saying.
Well at least moMs are now worth having :P
pathetic over nerf, and seriously ******ed new "role" for the Titan class vessels to sit in, ridiculous. (please note the "" around role, becuase CCP has basically removed the role and any possible use other than glorified mobile jump bridge and big hauler for Titans )
Flame away hater fanbois. xx
I do own a Titan and these changes are well overdue. The deathbeam sounds pretty exciting to me as does the turret and hitpoint buffs. I'm looking forward to unleashing firepower of the magnitude ordinary capital ships can't repel to be quite honest
Seriously though, I specced absolutely nothing but Gallente skills for six years to become the absolute embodiment of destructive firepower and finally getting the chance to fire the biggest gun in the game against some fool who gets in my Erebus sights is fantastically alluring. Live a little Eddz ... enjoy the game and accept that AOE was a bit rubbish in the big picture.

This nerf seems like only half a solution to Titans and honestly I've heard of better solutions for them in other posts. A HP buff will need to be enormous in order to encourage titan deployment. With 30+ dreads on the field a current titan dies in seconds. With a HP buff the titan will die in what, minutes? That means that it'll only be able to fire once before it dies to the incoming dread fire.
CCP did mention that they wanted to add other options for titans and imho these should be implemented together with the nerf. Change the titan once and for all, stop tweaking it again and again and again.

I really don't think this is a nerf, I think it's a redistribution of unbalance to titans. I think there are closer to 300 or more titans in game, and you're very likely to see more soon.
If this super weapon is as powerful as they claim, I can see huge problems with multiple titans on grid, and what it will do to warfare.
If it's as bad as you think, then well, what a waste of a ship.
Either way, it looks very bad for the game.

If DDs radius was limited to 50km and only one DD could be used on grid per 30min or so it would fix the problem. Forcing the titan to be used within close range to hostiles would make it more of a pick and choose situation to use one due to it being easily tackled and limiting the number of dds to 1 would only cripple a properly setup fleet rather than destroy it -which is how it should be a tool to be used to help your side not to say f you to both sides and end fights.

Rumor has it, that its 1 shot every 5mins, with a 30 second, welp im stuck in glue effect.
Altho I agree, the current AOE effect did need to be looked at, a 1 gun kills all is a bit, overpowered tbh, as simply people wont drop dreads on people, just triage carriers, and 5-10 titans, all being ompletely unkillable by even the largest dread fleets if done correctly, and we know there are some alliances who would do this correctly.
Personally, I was more in favor of the smartbomb bonus idea, discussed long ago...

Wrong. To Quote Oveur ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVmS5uBgaEU ): "Titans were never meant to be cost effective. It's a huge ****."
So no, they're not the pinnacle of eve warfare. They're just a huge ePeen. If you want isk efficient ships, dont use the titan.

Well, as erebus pilot this is my hopinion..
GOOD: 1) The idea of the big bad-ass lazor is cool, i can live without DDD, the bridge job of the titan is more important 2) One-volley on station hugging carrier is lovely, i like it 3) HP increase is always welcome, my erebus was always fitted for be a 15 million effective hp flying pos
BAD: 1) What happen if my uber lazor of doom DO NOT kill the enemy capital in one volley? the effectivness of the titan go to hell or so, the cool of it is avoiding the remote rep of enemy carriers for example, click, boom, if it does not die is all useless. 2) What happen if multiple titan show up and blow up other people 100m worth titans just because they have more titans and can do it? this is even more reducing the will to use super-capitals, the idea of exploding in 1 volley from 2-3-4 titans is too much to use them against multiple titan holding alliances. 3) Whatever HP increase we speak about, we are no more using a ship that can wipe entire enemy fleets and "worth" the risk considering the tackling chance are not so high, we speak about sitting in a grid where everything could happen for long time. 4) 5/10 minutes cooldown is too much, i repeat, want US to use titan in grid? firing and sitting still 5 minutes or doing crap dps with guns removing the ability to defend using Smartbombs and neutralizers is not a great idea. 5) We still have the same ship, same cost, we loose the "grid wiping" ability and we still not dock and jump very short.
These are my proposal for making people actually bring titans in fleet fights:
1) The Super lazor should directly SET 0 HITPOINTS on whatever Sub-Capital and Capital he fire, whatever is the fitting, whatever are the effective hp, one volley SHOULD be SURE 100% whatever they fit, in this way you have guarantee that using your titan for shooting something means he dies for sure. 2) The Super lazor should NOT be possible to be used on other Super capitals, find a stupid silly reason for the roleplay on it but do it please, in this way we just one-volley anything but we can't royally **** up with multiple titan removing assetts worth 100b in 1 second. 3)Considering that now we have a weapon that one-volley without tracking issue whatever he shoot AND we don't risk stupid mutually destruction, the idea of having a titan in grid require one thing: shoot more often.
My idea for the "ROF" of the uber lazor: 1) Don't bind it to minutes, bind it to CAP, give this weapon a very big cap use, like 50% of the total cap, you can fire 2 times from full cap, then you must recharge with a rof of like 30 seconds, that without any cap recharge mod would take lot of time to re-fire 2) Pilots will NEED to decide how to fit, they can decide to fit more tank, faster lock, more cap recharge, it would allow to have titans actually DECIDE how to fit for the purpose they want to achieve. 3) Big organized fleet will be able to USE the cap transfer of carriers for "keeping up" with the HUGE cap need of their super-weapon ships, in this way titans will be the ARMED arms of carriers!, carriers repair the titan, give him cap for shooting the big bad-ass weapon and the opposite fleet do the same, without the risk of having the titan beign one-vollyed, while carriers risk that faith on both side. 4) If a titan want to play alone without cap transfer from carriers he will NEED to fit cap recharge, reducing total tank and other mid-low slots useful stuff.
From some year of game experience and FC i would say that this changes are pretty good scalable, increase on total TITAN number is binded to increase of CAP givers ship, no-one would be so mad to fit 100% cap recharge on a ship that would melt under fire in no-time if not tanked properly with buffer hp.
The only downside i see in this, is that during BIG LAG situations, CAP always work a bit strange, this issue should be considered for avoiding to be able to shoot without cap use like sometime happens with BS fleets.
