Tested this on my Rook, Conjunctive Gravimetric ECCM witch raises my sensor strength up to 62 pts (missing some V skills)
I was wondering if using only multi jammers would be efficient since most ships are under this value, except some specific ships fit above 35 sensor strength, trying to understand this gameplay.
If someone experienced enough can share some advices and mechaincs knowledge I'd apreciate, thx. |

Not that experienced, but I thought ECCM modules only help to prevent you from being jammed. I maybe misunderstanding the question. |

I think you have a very large misunderstanding as to how ECM works. Multi specs are bad mmkay.
The chance to jam a ship = ecm jammer strength/ship sensor strength.
ECCM prevents you from being jammed. In other words that 64 or whatever sensor strength means that a person in a falcon with a jammer with a strength of 12 has a 12 divided by 64 chance of jamming you. Or 18 percent.
This link will help a lot. I plan on living forever.......so far, so good. |

That's why I'm asking advices, hoping some people care to answer with clear arguments, eventually.

huh? -and the reason is? -sry it's probably obvious for you but once again it's the reason of my question in this specific forum place. It's perfectly clear that multi jammers have less sensor bonus than specific, but are that much chances you fight ships all the time having a greater sensor strength than you're specialised ship?

That depends on the kind of opposition you will be facing, and whether you know what you will be facing in advance. In some way it is a game of rock/paper/scissors with your enemy.
If you expect to go against a single-race gang (or at least a gang where the ships you want to jam, e.g. logis, will be of a single race), obviously pack that race's ECM. If you expect to go against a mixed gang, spread your ECM between the different races. There is a good chance you will be able to apply each racial ECM to its primary target, maximizing your effectiveness. If you expect to face solo / duo pilots of which you do not know the race, a few multispecs might be a good choice. Several multispecs against a single target tend to be better than one racial and the rest of off-race jammers.
In any case, many ECM pilots like to keep a few spare jammers of each color in their cargo, to be able to quickly refit when your gang spots a potential target. |
